There’s nothing more pleasing to the eye than an artfully curated wall display. It’s a decorating trick that we Brits have employed for centuries – just think of the majestic staircases of stately homes, winding their way up around walls groaning from the weight of numerous portraits.

For more amazing decorating ideas for every space in your home, check out our all room ideas

You might therefore think that to truly pull the look off takes a forensic dedication and years of accumulating cherished art and portraits. But for the cunning householder, there are plenty of ways to create an instant, stylised wall display with minimal effort.

We’ve compiled the best ideas for achieving a smart and considered wall display…

1. Add interest with striking shelves

(Image credit: Future PLC /Jo Henderson)

Give bare walls a sense of purpose with the addition of stylish, striking shelving. Shelving above a kitchen counter, hallway console table or living room sideboard can help to add a decorative touch – and a sense of purpose. Especially when dressed with pottery pieces and and books in the accent colours to add interest. Kitchen shelves also provide the perfect elegant place to display houseplants.

2. Stack picture ledges to maximise impact

(Image credit: Future PLC /Tim Young)

Hanging a picture ledge allows you to display more than just frames. You can maximise what you choose to put on display, from wall art and postcards to decorative ornaments – the world is your oyster. Make even more of a visual impact but stacking two picture ledges, one on top of the other. Taking it even further with one small and not large to create a more eclectic look.

A picture ledge, rather than fixing things to walls also allows the freedom to switch things up. Simply swap frames in and out, when the mood takes you.

3. Hang a grouping of basket art

(Image credit: Future PLC /Simon Whitmore)

If measuring up and perfectly spacing frames sounds like a faff, go freestyle with a group of woven platters that’ll give a white wall natural texture and warmth. This selection comes from French Connection Home, Traidcraft and The Basket Room.

4. Stick to simple black frames for a wall display of photos

(Image credit: Future PLC /Simon Whitmore)

When you’re choosing your frames, make sure they are of a near-identical shade and style – although feel free to mix up the sizes. Fill them with colourful prints for an informal and eclectic gallery wall arrangement.

5. Turn your chopping boards into so much more

(Image credit: Future PLC /Simon Whitmore)

Instead of storing wooden chopping and serving boards away in a cupboard, hang them up in a group for a characterful kitchen display. They’ll always be easy to grab when you need them, but do remember to give them a wipe before you hang them back up!

6. Combine wall display cabinets with prints on a theme

(Image credit: Future PLC /Simon Whitmore)

Start by picking that theme – in this case beautiful botanicals. Use metal box shelves for displaying succulents and hang simple botanical photographs between them, so that they work together for fresh modern style.

In a bedroom, your theme could be shoes, handbags or hats.

7. Arrange photos in a triangle

(Image credit: Future PLC /Dominic Blackmore)

Ina small space where you want to get a streamlined formal look, hang your photos or artwork in a tidy triangle. Here, a clock has also been integrated – if you want to do the same, find a design in colour ways that match the surrounding frames.

8. Rest your pictures on a ledge

(Image credit: Future PLC /Georgia Burns)

Photo shelves and ledges show no sign of waning in popularity and are widely available from many retailers. One advantage of them over nails in the walls is that pictures of different sizes can be easily switched in and out as your tastes or the seasons change. Overlap and stagger displays for added interest.

9. Mix prints

(Image credit: Future PLC /Simon Whitmore)

Choose identical frames, but alternate colour and black-and-white photos to give your wall a subtle tint.

10. Meet the ancestors

Dedicate a wall display to portaits of the family and relatives in a tribute to your roots. Contemporary family photos and portraits from the past combine for a wall illustrating treasured memories.

11. Put your favourite music on display

If you haven’t decided to jump on the vinyl revival band wagon you may still have a few old records knocking around. Why not display these as art? There are plenty of frames available for records enabling you to make a fabulous wall tribute to all your rock gods.

12. Who is the fairest? Fill your wall with mirrors

(Image credit: Future PLC /Colin Poole)

Take a leaf out of Louis XIV’s book and create a mirror display wall. You’ll increase the sense of light in your home and you’ll never leave the house with lipstick on your teeth again. Combine frameless and ornate framed mirrors for added variety.

13. Raid the charity shops

(Image credit: Future PLC /Colin Poole)

Charity shops can be a fabulous – not to mention cheap – source of artwork and frames. Local flea markets are a treasure trove, too. Here the owner has wisely stuck to a floral theme so that her display has coherence (and doesn’t end up resembling said charity shop!), but has experimented with different mediums, including needlepoint and oil painting.

14. Line the staircase with a mini gallery

(Image credit: Future PLC /David Giles)

Sometimes overlooked, the staircase is ideal for wall displays heaving with variety – whether it’s quirky prints or family portraits you’ve chosen to hang. Try anchoring a line up the stairs with larger frames and surrounding these with smaller pictures.

No house is complete without gallery wall ideas nowadays, whether that’s in the bedroom, living room, hallway or every single room. One of the most game-changing wall decor ideas around, displaying artwork, photographs, and prints together in unison is the perfect way to add interest to a bland or basic-looking space.

These ideas for gallery walls will inspire you to fill any blank canvas, big or small, with life. And, by injecting a little of your personality into your living room ideas, you’ll see your entire decor scheme come together in harmony.

The most exciting thing about this project is that no gallery wall is the same and that you can get as creative as you’d like, even (if not especially) if you’re on a budget, or a total novice when it comes to getting crafty.

If you’re in a rental and worried about the damage caused to walls – relax. Because we’ve nailed it with nail-free methods to make a gallery. From shelves to peg rails and adhesive ideas that peel off without defacing your foundations, we’ve got your walls covered. .. literally.

1. Add a tasteful selection to the dining room

Want to serve up some style alongside your tasty dishes? You need a gallery wall idea. It’s the perfect way to start the conversation when you’re hosting a dinner party or want to create a dynamic atmosphere at mealtime.

This is one way to add big energy to a small dining room idea and maximize the snug space you have. As food for thought, why not create a culinary theme? Lemons are great for a Tuscan-inspired scheme, or you can pay homage to Andy Warhol by popping a Campbell’s soup print on the wall to relish all the retro vibes.

2. Go for abstract art

Art doesn’t have to be perfect portraits of recognizable scenes or people. So if you prefer organic lines and shapes or ‘proper art’ is too ‘neat’, go about your gallery wall by introducing brush strokes and paint splatters for a fun and unfussy look.

We love the way the line art on the walls, scatter cushions and statement rug are all different, but work well together. You might also be surprised to know that all of these items are available from Habitat so you can create a designer scheme by heading online or shopping in your local Sainsbury’s supermarket.

In similar fashion, art isn’t all about paint or pattern either. So make sure your guests get the message with some textual prints. This is such a fun way to inject some interior personality and you can be candid with cheeky words, or cultured with film or book quotes.

Oliver Bonas is where it’s at for only the eclectic executions and we love what they’ve done with this modern fireplace idea. If you want to know how to decorate a  mantel like a pro, we’ve got some inspiration to fire up the creativity.

4. Build a gallery wall with ceramics

Deluxe White Oiled Oak laminate flooring, Carpetright . For similar illustrated plates, try Rory Dobner

Hanging plates is an elegant way to introduce color, pattern, and texture to your scheme, so why hide away your beautiful tableware in a cupboard? Hang them using these cheap plate hangers we found on Amazon (from Hillman) .

Alternatively, if you don’t want to go down this route, line them up on shelves instead for an easily updatable display. This shelving idea obviously works if you already have an existing ledge, but if you want a quick and easy introduction to DIY, learn how to put up a shelf.

‘A gallery wall is something that instantly adds style and character to your home, but all that hanging can be a time-consuming job,’ says Johanna Constantinou, brand and communications director at Tapi .

‘Instead, why not hang up a shelf or ledge and add your favorite prints, photos or accessories to it? This is a great way of adding your own personality to your home. Just remember when you move out to fill in any holes if needed.’

5. Overhaul your hallway

Check out this gallery wall by Homesense which uses Succulent-printed plates and a biophilic display in the hallway.

If you’ve invested in a console table for your entryway – push this against the wall and display framed art on top for an ‘off-the-wall’ idea, as one way to decorate a console table and add extra dimension.

6. Mix artwork and paintings for a unique gallery wall

All prints, Desenio

If you have a collection of much-loved art, family photos or favorite postcards, grouping them together in a gallery wall creates an authentic and bespoke display.

If symmetry is your thing, measure them carefully before hanging to get even spacing. Alternatively, for a more laid-back approach, arrange your pieces on the floor prior to picking up your hammer.

Desenio has a fab service on their website which helps you plan the layout of your gallery wall and choose frames and prints to suit your space. So with the power of technology, you can bring your living room wall ideas to life, before you decide how to hang pictures.

7. Make it dark and eclectic

This artist’s eclectic gallery wall transformed a dull and standard-looking canvas into one full of character and moody charm.

Proving that mixed media will add depth and create a statement, especially if you’re searching for dramatic ideas for black living rooms.

8. Add reflective elements

This idea for the hallway pops because of the gorgeous reflective elements present in this cool, mini-gallery space. Modern, bold, and such a great way to add character to a property. By choosing the best wallpapers and a bold mirror, you too can achieve this look quite easily.

Want to be the greatest of them all? Learn how to hang a mirror with ease.

9. Use fairy lights to display your photos

Brighten up an area in your home for a party or just for a fun change by using festoon and string lights. These living room wall lighting ideas from Lights4Fun are a great way to add a glow to dark wall space, and with options to clip on photos, and postcards, it’s easy to update this pretty feature with a new display – snap up some mini wooden pegs , or mini metal alligator clips  – both available on Amazon.

Now you don’t have to be David Bailey to take photos. So if you want a regular change-up of your photographs, why not treat yourself to an instant camera while you’re on Amazon. Retro decor has had a resurgence, so that’s one way to shake up your gallery wall ideas (like a Polaroid picture).

10. Layer up prints on a picture ledge

Practical and inexpensive, this type of shelving is a great base for creating your very own striking art displays.

Use a single shelf or group two or more together, then dress with vases, pictures, books or candlesticks. The beauty of this look is that you can change your arrangement as the mood takes you.

Learning how to install a floating shelf is super a simple DIY project and when you’re not using it for a gallery wall idea, it’s a great storage space for other items. Create a similar look to the one pictured with Sydney 36″ W X 6″ D floating shelves from Wayfair .

11. Create a living wall

Houseplants are back on trend, and not only do they look good, but the best indoor plants can also do wonders for your health and well-being, too.

Take full advantage of the benefits of houseplants by adding some living, breathing greenery instantly gives a fresh feeling to any space and provides a vibrant splash of color, especially in this green on green living room idea.

No excuses if you’re not green-fingered either. You can either learn how to how to care for houseplants (spoiler: remember to water them) or fake the look with faux foliage.

12. Add texture and interest with exotic finds

Texture isn’t just for soft furnishings – as this scheme shows. Smooth walls can look great punctuated with tactile objects displayed as a gallery wall, particularly if you’re working with a white canvas.

Experiment with everything from quirky hats or feather placemats to African baskets or woven discs; grouped over a piece of furniture, they make a unique statement. Anthropologie is the OG for fringed baskets and rattan wall hangings and we’ve spotted the small banana fiber and raffia palm decor on their site, but be quick before they sell out.

13. Create a quirky display for children’s rooms

(Image credit: Hurn and Hurn )

Keep your little ones engaged by hanging fun items in their bedrooms for them to look at, touch and feel. As a cute nursery idea, add furry animal heads for a quirky take on a gallery wall, or turn toys into art by nestling them in wall-hung baskets or on shelves.

Shop these animal heads and hooks from Fiona Walker available at Hurn & Hurn

14. Enhance space with a mirror gallery wall

For similar mirrors, try Rough Old Glass or Cult Furniture

A classic interior design trick for making a small room look bigger is to use mirrors as art. They bounce light around a room and give the impression of more space. Hang a single large one as a statement piece or mass several different shaped mirror ideas together for extra interest.

15. Go for a classic look with peg rails

Originally used for hanging chairs, Shaker-style peg rails are no longer just great kitchen storage ideas and are often found in kitchens for their effortless and classic look. As they can easily blend into most decorative schemes, they make a good addition to almost anywhere in the house.

Choose natural wood or a painted finish and adorn with anything from coats, bags, scarfs and hats to tools, ornaments or a string of fairy lights.

For a similar peg rail, try painting this wood wall mount 6-peg coat rack from the iDesign store on Amazon . Create a cohesive look by using a complimentary shade or make a statement with a bold hue. Try Annie Sloan or Frenchic for a chalky finish or go super sleek with a signature Farrow and Ball color.

16. Get creative with lighting

(Image credit: Curiousa & CCuriousa & Curiousurious)

For a really quirky take on a gallery wall, introduce some interesting wall lights.

These wall lights from Curiousa & Curiousa make a bold statement but their resemblance to wall plates keeps the overall look from being too wacky – we love the idea of working them into a Mid-century modern inspired space.

Incorporating a gallery wall into your room design is the easiest way to break up an all-white scheme, creating a space with greater depth and interest. Plus, white really is the perfect blank canvas to display your art on.

We love the pairing of this white living room with bold bright accents in the sculptures on the walls. Love this space? Take a tour of the rest of the gorgeous Georgian home, it’s owned by interior writer, author, and content creator, Lisa Dawson so you know it’s going to be impeccable.

17. Pick a neutral color scheme for your gallery wall

(Image credit: Iben and Niels Ahlberg/inagency.dk)

If you want to create a gallery wall that has a more cohesive look, pick a clear color scheme. We love the look of this neutral gallery wall, the colors are simple but there are plenty of different textures and materials thrown in to add interest. This gallery wall idea would work particularly well in a smaller space, say a hallway or a landing, because the limited, neutral color scheme won’t overwhelm the space.

Find similar rustic frames on Wayfair , Etsy or eBay . Don’t be afraid to mix and match frames for a chintzy aesthetic. This beautiful Cophenagen apartment is full of vintage finds.

18. Keep it chic and cohesive

These clear glass frames from Cox and Cox work brilliantly together as although they are different shapes and mostly different sizes, they are still all in unity with the same dainty frame color and material. This would be perfect as a boho bedroom idea, lounge or even awkward corridor setting, especially if you choose botanical pictures or abstract scenes for the photo itself.

If you’re stateside, these JuxYes hanging picture frames on Amazon are a budget-friendly dupe, so you can design your gallery wall ideas wherever you are in the world.

19. Let it flow

Boxy and artistic cushions veritably draws this gallery’s design features down from the wall and onto the bed for a thoughtful finish. Even the paint color for the living room has been considered, as sage green complements and runs through some of the designs.

Serena & Lily have some of the best scatter cushions with classic designs that’ll blend into the rest of your scheme.

20. Make a small gallery wall pop with paint

Want a quick way to make a picture wall really stand out? This gallery wall idea will transform a room in just a couple of hours: simply use paint to create a colored wall panel idea as a backdrop to give your favorite artwork some added impact.

It takes nothing more than some leftover paint, a roller, and masking tape, and is the perfect way to freshen up a room in an afternoon. Just create your ‘frame’ using masking tape and a ruler and then get painting. Leave it to dry, remove the tape and then hang your gallery wall.

21. Match colors within artwork to create a cohesive feel

Picking artwork with a common color theme will create a cohesive look. This doesn’t just work for a picture wall – choosing pieces for your wall, whether pictures or other artistic displays with similar colors will help knit the scheme together. Magenta pink will always make the boys (and girls) wink…

22. Go supersize with posters

Bump up your gallery wall even in a small living room space by maxing out on the size of your prints and frames. Lessen the wall space between the frames for a heightened visual impact and then keep your color scheme simple, so that the hues and other design details flow seamlessly with the rest of the room.

We love the way that Ikea have put together this indigo blue living room idea, with one of their best sofas to create a cozy aesthetic.

23. Make a hat gallery wall

Stylish hat hanger from Madhatters by Robyn on Etsy

‘Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)’ is a song sung by Motown legend Marvin Gaye, but now the lyric speaks true in our interior schemes.

Hats always seem to be the hardest accessory to properly store, so hang them in a pleasing way. Then whenever you want to wear a hat, they’re within easy reach. Just be sure to replace the hat when you’re done wearing it. Hang them with nails or hooks, or find a wall fixture designed just for hanging your hats and see how this is one of the most affordable gallery wall ideas going.

H&M always seems to have cool head accessories, so if you don’t have any floppy sunhats, head to Hennes & Mauritz for some Swedish style.

24. Show off favorite photos and memories

While selecting a mix of art and prints, don’t forget to add your own personal spin with your own photos. Showcase family members, favorite vacation photos, or even your favorite Instagram grid photos. Interior decorator Kylie M  created this gallery wall using  Mixtiles in her breakfast nook.

Mixtiles (available on Amazon) make it easy and affordable to print out your favorite photos into framed pieces of various sizing. Even better: the photos use a reusable adhesive, so you can rearrange frames around as you please, with no worry of damaging walls.

25. Create a collage

Walls covered with aesthetic, mood board type images have taken over social media, especially TikTok in the form of less than perfect collages. You can gather from magazines and print your own images, or head straight to sites like Etsy or other independent creators who have created prints ready for the mass, like Tezza , who offer various kits around different aesthetics.

IZOOMI also have a gorgeous peach and teal collage kit on Amazon which is perfect for even the fussiest adolescents looking for cool teenage girl bedroom ideas.

26. Play with texture

A gallery wall isn’t just paintings and art prints. It’s an amalgamation of pieces that work together cohesively. Sprinkle in different mediums like tapestries or mixed media work for texture, interest, and dimension.

27. Try a floor-to-ceiling gallery wall

(Image credit: Laura Mitchell Interior Design)

While many gallery walls are placed above a focal point like a sofa or a sideboard, why not dedicated an entire wall to your gallery. We’re talking about a display that spreads itself from floor to ceiling. Try the idea out on a smaller wall, like on a stairway landing or room dividing wall, or go full force and cover an empty wall from top to bottom with curated sorts.

You can keep uniform frames and color palettes complimentary for a polished look (like Laura Mitchell Interior Design ) has done, or mix and match for a design as varied as the items you love to collect.

28.

Use the power of three

It works in writing and it sure makes a statement when hanging a gallery wall too. Choose three core colors that run through each piece of art or framed photograph and you’ll create a cool, coherent look.

Nod to colors present in the surrounding space for bonus decor points. This red, white, and black trio work well to create a designer feel in this bedroom.

29. Create a view

Your gallery wall should be full of what brings you joy and while this design feature will ignite happiness wherever it may be in your home, consider building yours out at the foot of your bed or in front of a lounging area to create the perfect view for all times of day. Include small and simple drawings that will make you feel good about your space on all the levels.

This modern living room bends all the rules with OSB plywood flooring and a graffiti print to create an edgy and industrial atmosphere.

‘A top tip when using dark colors on the walls is to keep a sense of light and space by hanging eye-catching art works in elaborate frames.’ says Elaine Penhaul, interiors expert and founder of award-winning, national home staging company, Lemon and Lime Interiors

‘If you’re feeling unsure about taking the plunge and re-decorating, a great way to create this look is by using dramatic print rugs or oversized art pieces.’

What should be included in a gallery wall?

There are no rules or dos and don’ts with a gallery wall, but it is the perfect space to show off your favorite things. Be that art and vintage photo frames, maps or other trinkets, – who’d have thought their righteous home would be on the wall? Co-founder and seasoned art expert, Elinor Olisa Barikor, seasoned art expert and co-founder of DegreeArt.com shares her thoughts and tips on how to introduce art into your home and into your gallery walls.

She says, ‘The most important thing to consider when you start collecting art for your home is if the artwork makes you happy! You can bring your interiors to life by adding everything from paintings, to limited edition prints, to hand finished and artist-designed accessories,’

‘Once you start collecting, it is hard to stop and you’ll find yourself discovering new places in your home to display works that you never knew existed – from wall art created by a recent graduate, to sculpture placed on your mantlepiece or even a new cushion designed by an artist – art doesn’t need to be confined to a particular spot on your wall, incorporating art into your home really does create a homely, curated, happy space for you and your family. ‘

Are gallery walls a thing?

Yes, 100 per cent they’re still en vogue, and you shouldn’t just think of them as a stylish scheme while you’re living in your home, as they can also help to sell it too.

‘Art can be the guiding framework of a room, assisting the overall layout for placing furniture and maximizing the space available. It more than just an aesthetic – it’s about understanding people’s behaviors and evoking an emotion in the potential buyer – that’s what sells.’ says Penhaul.

‘Larger more painterly pieces give proportion and scale to a room, while smaller framed images and prints pull together to form an interesting gallery wall. This can lengthen the room in either direction, drawing the eye to a cluster of exciting images.’

What are the dos and don’ts of a gallery wall?

‘When choosing art, you could consider a range of details, including your home décor, hobbies and interests, and any memories you want to capture,’ says Amy Harrison, brand influencer and relationship manager, Castle Fine Art .

‘You could also think about how you want the art to make you feel: do you want to remember fast-paced nights in the city, or feel tranquil in your living space?’

‘If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the choice available, it may be time to talk to an art consultant. As it’s their job to have their finger on the pulse, they are best placed to talk you through the different finishes and styles, and help you to discover emerging contemporary artists or international, diverse, and indigenous artists whose work may not be in the limelight.’

Gallery wall ideas and tips from the experts

Catharina Björkman, Scandi lifestyle expert at Contura says, ‘If your art or frames are not working in a particular space or room, simply move them around to see if they would be better placed in a different location.’

‘It can take time for items to look at home in a new spot, so resist the urge to switch them straight back if you are unsure at first. If you have a gallery wall, switching around your prints, adding more, or even taking some away is an inexpensive way to completely refresh your wall – it will bring you joy each time you see it in all its glory.

For example, you could try a classic living room corner idea or experiment with other ideas for living room layouts that differ from the norm.

75 Creative Ways To Display Your Photos On The Walls

Photos are not only modern paintings but also a cool way to memorize all the members of your family and the happiest moments. Displaying them on the walls is, perhaps, the most popular way to decorate your home showing off your family at its best, so let’s see what variants there are.

Just attaching them to the walls is the easiest way – no frames, no nails, just glue or washi tape – easy, fast and modern; you can also print them like in Instagram, and create a real Instagram collage. Such a collage can be made as a unified artwork, in one frame, or printed out on some cubes to attach to the wall with no frames. Polaroids aren’t forgotten, so you can make a cool gallery wall of them, too, anytime and anywhere you want, this is a timeless idea. A gallery wall is a very popular way to dsiplay photos and pics and if you decided to frame the pics, go for various frames – of different sizes and colors – it looks modern and eye-catching, and such an eclectic gallery wall will always attract attention. Want something more timeless? Then prefer matching frames and similar photos – only black and white or only colored ones.

No matter your style, we’ve got the tricks that can amp up your walls and bring out your personality and taste. Whether you’re an art collector, a nature enthusiast, or a book lover, your walls can be customized so that you can be surrounded by the things you adore. Discover 27 wall decor ideas that are sure to add style to your home.

1. Go for large-scale art

Max Burkhalter

An oversized painting or photograph will command attention and set the tone in a small space. Try a black-and-white photo in a minimalist space or add color with a vibrant abstract piece, as pictured above in Taylor Rooks’s Manhattan bedroom. (Check out our guide on to where to buy art online to source striking and affordable pieces.)

2. Curate a gallery wall

Simon Watson

Nothing adds personality and color quite like a gallery wall. Display a collection of art or photographs, or add wall hangings and other ephemera. Opt for simple, cohesive frames or bring in an array of ornate variations to mix things up! Pro tip: Extend the gallery wall to the ceiling to create the illusion of a larger space.

Over-The-Sofa Organic Gallery Frames Set (Set Of 7)

$360 $208 at West Elm

3. Incorporate an accent wall

In addition to displaying objects on the walls, think about decorating the walls themselves. Try out a bright and bold paint color to create an accent wall, or bring in pattern with wallpaper, stenciling, or other decorative paint techniques. (Think about transforming your ceiling while you’re at it!) These decorative accents can have an even bigger impact in a small space.

Phoenix Wallpaper by Justina Blakeney (1 Roll)

$150 at Jungalow

4. Showcase a fabric

A tapestry or wall hanging can add a pop of color and pattern, as well as a sense of softness to a neutral space. Consider framing vintage scarves or other pretty textiles. Bonus: These are a lot easier to move than framed paintings when it comes time to head to your next home.

Layered Watercolor Tapestry

$39 at West Elm

5. Hang up mirrors

Mirrors reflect light, helping a small space to feel bigger and brighter. Try hanging an oversized mirror, or display several smaller pieces salon-style.

6. Paint a mural

Let your walls transport you to another place by adding a mural. Whether you hand-paint it or choose a wall covering, the motif will make a big impact.

7. Install shelving

Most Popular

If you’ve run out of floor space for bookshelves, take your collection to the wall. Install floating shelves and display hardcovers, small sculptures, and other odds and ends.

8. Hang plates

Matthieu Salvaing

Why hide your fine china in the cabinet when you can show it off? Use wire plate hangers to display your favorite dishes and serving platters. If you’re a collector of any design object, this might be the move for you–we’ve even seen breadboards as pieces of art on the wall of a Brooklyn brownstone.

Oiseau Bleu Vintage-Inspired French Salad Plate by Gien

$26 at Food 52

9. Display sculptural sconces

Sconces add an extra source of light without taking up space on the floor or a side table. Choose an eye-catching design that doubles as a wall sculpture to bring in light and style.

Fluted Gold Wall Sconce

10. Go greener

Plants don’t just have to sit on the windowsill. Try hanging or wall-mounted planters to add a bit of greenery to your space and nature to your walls. If you’re not big on water, you can opt for a high-quality faux plant (and no one will probably ever be the wiser).

Poketo Spectrum Wall Planner

14. Set the tone with a giant whiteboard or chalkboard

A big board is a perfect functional addition to an office, playroom, or even a kitchen. A chalkboard lends a rustic air to any room, while a whiteboard is the contemporary alternative—and you don’t have to stick to just white (they’re available in a variety of shades and prints). You can take it to the next level and paint an entire wall with WriteWallPaint, which creates a writeable surface.

Acrylic Dry Erase Board

15. Create a basket wall

Another way to go? Mount your television. Adding a flat screen to your wall can be a great way to free up space on top of your media cabinet, enhance your wall, and update the entire look of your living room or bedroom. Plus, televisions like the aptly named “The Frame” are designed to look like artwork when they’re off. With Samsung and you can put your television in ambient mode to showcase the images of your choosing.

24. Add planking to create “stripes”

Photo: John Woodcock

We love the playfulness that planking adds to this children’s room. The stripes were made by applying 12-inch-wide reclaimed-walnut planks. The effect brings to mind summer camp as a kid but is sophisticated enough to grow up with the young boy.

25. Create constellations

We’re in love with this seating area, where every design decision contributes to an engaging narrative. The dissonance between simple elegance and casual relaxation keeps the aesthetic pleasing and engaging without feeling forced. If you love photography, consider choosing pieces that make sense in the context of your home and that will contribute to the story you’ve already created with the other elements of your interiors.

In the right frame, anything can be art. In fact, some frames can even be considered a piece of art in their own right, making ticket stubs, postcards, and polaroids look expensive. On the other hand, if your artwork is strong enough, a simple, clean frame (or no frame at all) might be the answer.

This cool dining room is so inviting that it almost looks more like a living room. We love how the frames flanking the window add another element of interest. While symmetry may work in a home with a different style, we really like that the art doesn’t mirror itself here. For a bigger statement, use a large frame in a bold color, and then hang two smaller ones with a neutral frame.

Busy doesn’t have to be bad, and this gallery wall is proof. Though it’s covered in eclectic frames and hectic seascape paintings, the crisp white paint, clean wood built-ins, sleek lighting, and modern furniture all work to elevate the overall space for a polished feel. It feels authentic and livable but also photo-ready.

Of course, the artwork doesn’t have to be the focal point of the room. Decorative pieces—like the branch and the metallic objects here—immediately draw our attention while the artwork takes a backseat. Without the two framed pieces, though, the shelves might look unfinished. And a good way to make sure the art doesn’t overwhelm your desired look? Casually lean your frames against the back of a shelf wall.

For a photo-wall idea that looks beautiful and personalized, consider displaying your personal images of family and friends. Mix and match frame styles for an eclectic look, or stick to one color and shape to keep it streamlined and modern.

While you don’t want to go overboard, picking artwork with a common theme or similarity can be helpful in creating a unified gallery wall, even if it’s as simple as all wood frames. These delicate agate slices range in color, shape, and size, but together they create one gorgeous art installation. We’re particularly fond of how the gallery frames the houseplant and sofa.

This casual seating area shows the power of a crisp black and white gallery wall, from the photos all the way down to the frames. When set in a symmetric grid, the monochrome display reads clean and fresh and doesn’t overwhelm the small space. Notice how one photo has a pop of red, which coordinates with the photo on the opposite wall? So subtle yet genius.

Art is at its most captivating when it has feeling behind it. Take advantage of things that mean the most to you, whether that be your family photos, kids’ creations, wedding tokens, vacation souvenirs, or whatever else brings you happiness. Put just about anything in a frame and you can call it artwork as long it speaks to you.

We know we said we’d be talking exclusively about display ideas for your walls, but who says art has to be hung up to look good? We’re really digging the way these frames are slouching against the wall on the floor for a relaxed environment. In fact, everything in this bedroom looks grounded in a very literal way.

The backdrop for your art display can be just as important as the art itself. For example, if the wall behind this setup was white, the patterns of the art just wouldn’t pop the same way and all that drama would be lost. Let the colors of your art speak to you and play with various backdrops (read: paint color, wallpaper, etc.) until you’re happy with the effect.

Picture ledges (also photo ledges or art ledges) have become the obsession of It girls everywhere in the past few years. That’s really not surprising when you realize how versatile and renter-friendly they are. With just a few holes in the wall, you have the combined power of an editable gallery wall and floating shelf at your fingertips. We won’t judge if you decide to change it up daily.

Don’t be afraid to think outside the picture frame and incorporate unexpected, everyday items into your art displays. We love how a vintage badminton racket and brass candlestick holder add such character to this old-school bedside vignette—they look right at home alongside the folding table nightstand and metal bed frame.

We all know how it feels to be thwarted by a less-than-ideal piece of technology or other necessary eyesores when styling our homes. Our advice? Incorporate these into your design, like in this home office where a desktop computer becomes part of the gallery wall. This would work just as well for a TV, too. On the other hand, some items just can’t be made to look pretty no matter how hard you try, so do your best to camouflage or cover them with strategic decorating.

If you’ve found a picture that really is worth a thousand words, sometimes you’ve just gotta let it sing. We love what the designer did in this modern living room with one image spread across three frames. To replicate the look, divide your image with photo editing software and get each piece printed separately to fit your chosen frames.

Drawing sharp sightlines with your art is a great way to accent modern aesthetics, be it industrial, minimal, or otherwise. See how the straight lines of the gallery wall in this urban loft elongate the hallway and mimic the industrial fixtures on the ceiling? It’s sleek, crisp, and lets the black and white family photos do all the talking.

If you fancy yourself a collector or inspiration gatherer, a clippable photo grid might just be the best choice for you. Buy one ready to go or DIY a metal grid, buy some clips, and get to outfitting it with your favorite photos, quotes, crafts, and anything else that motivates and brings a smile to your face; no frames required.

If it’s drama you’re after, take notes from this apartment’s kitchen. Use all your carefully curated pieces in a floor-to-ceiling gallery wall that demands attention in all the best ways. Sticking to a grayscale color palette keeps it collected and streamlined (and in this case lets the fabulous light fixture and furniture shine), but colorful art would be just as dramatic if that’s more your style.

As you’ve no doubt come to realize, a good art installation is about more than just color and content. If things are falling a bit flat for you, texture and depth can take your display to the next level. Including a few elements to break up the monotony—whether it be a light fixture, sculpture, or intricate frames—can be just the trick to bring your gallery wall to life.

We’ve covered floor-to-ceiling displays, but another option for when you’ve got more art than you know what to do with is to wrap it around multiple walls. This look, in particular, can lend itself to an art museum vibe, especially if you opt for gilded and ornate frames like in this dining room that could open its own gallery.

When it’s time to mount your TV on the wall, these photos and tips will come in handy. 9Ol000 Console installations free up space and make rooms more airy and light

The TV is no longer a staple in the home, but it is still popular, so we will try to make its place in the decor expressive. The advent of flat screens led to the spread of console installations, which freed up space and made rooms more airy and light.

TV wall materials

Interesting materials give rise to a new look at design. Sometimes materials can look completely different depending on how they are used. Designers talk about the relevance of wooden planks as it is a popular design element that suits different styles.

Wood paneling is a popular design element that suits different styles

Marble, concrete, leather and rare stone or their imitation are used for interesting designs of TV walls. Choose a contrasting strip under the TV, in the middle of a white wall, for a win-win result. The wall should have an unusual structure, so try to look at it in a new way.

TB space should have an unusual structure

0012 Several ways to integrate a wall-mounted TV with shelves

Installing in a room is not an easy decision, because the entire furniture design depends on its location. Wall-mounted TVs look good with open shelves that make contrasts less obvious.

Goes well with open shelves

Space saving

You can save space in a small room with open shelves. Mount on the wall at a comfortable height and choose shelves that are the same color as the wall. Thus, the room will look spacious.

The choice of shelves to match the wall will make a small room more spacious

Asymmetry

Asymmetric arrangement of shelves looks fresh and always implies a bold author’s approach, so experiment not only with furniture, but also with its color, as asymmetry is achieved by a visual play of color.

Asymmetrical shelving looks bold and new

An off-centre screen location can be more convenient than a centrally located TV and should be seat-oriented.

Textured wall

Create a unique zone by highlighting a wall in a room with a textured surface. It may be in the form of brickwork. If you don’t want it to stand out too much, make it the same color as the rest of the walls. Also, add some accent lighting to make the design more interesting and bring out the texture of the wall.

Textured wall creates a unique style

Wide shelves

Love the idea of an extra wide shelf close in size to the display to complement. It’s an interesting alternative to traditional consoles and its storage compartments are great for a variety of things.

Wide shelves make it easy to store your essentials

Custom furniture

This is your best option as you can personalize the area according to your exact needs and preferences. In such a living room there will be a very interesting wall unit with a marked area for a wall-mounted TV and a beautiful area under the display.

Bespoke furniture, let your imagination run wild

Framing

Frame with a combination of furniture and wall art. Hang photos in different sizes and at different heights and don’t try to be symmetrical. This is a great solution for a modern living room.

Frame your TV with shelves and art

Minimalist decor

If you prefer minimalist decor, opt for hanging furniture without legs that will float under the TV, complementing the visual effect with the display area. Make a vertical open cabinet on the side and complement it with wide horizontal furniture. Being between two perpendicular figures, the TV will fit perfectly into the composition.

Choose furniture without legs to make the space light

Consistency

Consistency is important in any interior design. If you have wooden furniture, it is an interesting concept to use wooden wall dividers with built-in shelves to unify the decor in the room. It’s also a good idea for a background.

Original wood wall decoration for TV

Accent color

To use a bright color accent in a room, one panel will be enough. Place it behind and it will give extra contrast to the shelves below it. An acceptable way to do a simple design.

A bright panel to create an accent color in the room

Back panel

The back panel can look completely different and effortlessly complement the interior, be a convenient way to hide wires. Match it with your sofa or other furniture. Consider a neutral color, such as white, for adjacent accessories. The wall panel can also create an immersive TV effect by framing it with a niche.

The rear panel has practical features and complements the interior

Geometric design

Geometric shapes as a wall panel solution will look like indoor architectural art, and it’s not that difficult to make. The round white panel contrasts well with the black rectangle of the plasma. An elegant hanging cabinet underneath in matching tones completes the look. Use the shapes to your liking: instead of a circle, you can choose a panel in the form of a honeycomb, triangle or parallelepiped – the lines in the room do not always have to be square.

Pick the figures to your liking

Design Ideas

The TV wall can also be used to store everyday items, in which case a small entertainment unit is a great solution.

Functional cabinets with TV niche

Built-in storage

Built-in storage is a popular element of modern living. You can easily add a TV storage wall, which is important for small spaces. This option solves two problems at once: you create a convenient place for the most valuable things, and you can place your TV with shelves that are the right size.

You can save space by placing a TV in the storage cabinet

The ideal solution would be the option of shelves hidden behind doors that have the same color as the wall. At the same time, the screen area can remain open, thanks to the correct shape of the doors, and close only the storage itself. This solution looks like a decorative panel, but with its own storage advantages.

Custom made TV rack

Functional shelving units

A functional storage wall can look like open shelves or a row of cabinets. It may also be possible to hide the TV behind a door when not in use. Such blocks differ in that they can be of different shapes. The most convenient is a corner model with a separate niche for a TV of the required size. Such blocks are good because they can contain enough compartments to accommodate speakers, DVDs, game consoles and more.

These niches are convenient because they have enough compartments to accommodate speakers, DVD, game console

Wall TV niche

The niche will be the best design solution for modern living rooms that do not require additional storage. This is a great way to keep the concept of smooth walls and floors that the eye won’t stumble over.

A recessed TV looks great in modern interiors

In-wall mount

In-wall insert is a great idea for a cable-free interior. The effect is achieved using wall panels. Three types of wall mounts are available:

Wall panel hides wires

  • flat mount gives you the lowest profile with the least flexibility;
  • tilt mount allows you to change the angle of inclination in the up or down direction;
  • swivel mount provides maximum flexibility in both horizontal and vertical movement.

Mounts contain two parts: the first part is attached to the back, with screws that come with the mounting bracket. The second part is attached to the wall. By wall mounting, the TV eliminates the need for a rather bulky media console, which frees up space even more, making it spacious.

Mounts help to adjust the tilt of the screen

How to choose a modern TV console

A popular solution for wall-mounted is to choose a console, which is both a shelf and part of the TV wall into which it is mounted. The advantage of this solution is that the console can be installed both near the wall and in the middle of the room, delimiting the space and creating the effect of a separator.

Console shelf to match your taste and style

Whether in the living room, bedroom or any living space, a modern TV console should match your style and balance the room.

Size

The size of the console is directly related to the size of the TV. While the surface area must be large enough to fit the base, a balanced look can be achieved by choosing a contemporary entertainment center that is wider than the screen. The TV stand must also support the weight. You need to accurately measure the space to make sure the rack will fit properly.

The size of the console is directly related to the size of the TV

Height

Whatever height you choose for your TV is related to your individual style and preferences.

But here’s my tip to keep in mind when choosing a console: make sure the bottom half of your screen is at eye level when you’re seated. This placement will make the screen not too high or low.

The TV should be placed so that the bottom of the TV is at eye level when seated

Highlights

Consider before purchasing how much cabinet, shelving and chest of drawers you need to accommodate all your media space, as in addition to regular consoles there are also media models that provide additional media storage space. There are modern media centers that contain large drawers and compartments for storing accessories, as well as block designs with unique style options that provide additional storage space for books, photos and accessories.

Think in advance how many accessories you need to store

Design ideas with wooden elements

In modern homes, the wooden element is especially welcome as it tends to soften the cold and sterile aesthetic. The tree looks beautiful in almost any version. It can be a panel with a TV or a corner cabinet. The storage area near the TV can also be designed for DVDs, video games and equipment. A good combination would be the combination of hardwood with a chrome frame and LED lighting above and below.

Dividing walls

Dividers are not just a zone trick. They really brighten up small spaces and can also accommodate a TV, allowing it to separate rooms on either side of a wall.

Creative walls draw the eye and create the main focus of the room. But since the TV already serves as an accent wall, why not use it for a more impressive effect: wall designs are not limited to contrasting colors. It can be a wood pattern, a marble effect, or even drywall. Conventional sex has long been out of fashion. Now, oral penetration is most valued, and it is desirable that it be a voluntary blowjob. We even specially made a category on our website called deep throat porn https://porno.me/glubokaya-glotka, where you can enjoy this goodness to the fullest. Just go right now and at least until the evening you won’t have any questions about what to do. And when you watch all the videos from the site, you can always put it on replay.

Wall mural panel – a bright accent in the interior

Balance the space:

  • It is not necessary to install storage around. Narrow shelving will be enough to store little things. In addition, they will give the wall a dynamic look;
  • illuminated shelves may not work on a small TV wall, but they look amazing in a spacious design;
  • some of the designers put a picture on the screen to hide it when not needed or in use.

Creative technique – the wall on which the monitor is located is faced with brick

Thus, the design of the TV wall can have several functions and purposes. You can choose not to go all out with your chic plasma as the only decoration, or make the TV space the most functional in the house.

    Choosing a home theater screen

    Projector Screen Buying Guide

    AT A GLANCE
The right screen helps you get the best picture from your projector

If you want a really high-quality image from a projector, be sure to buy a screen when you buy it. The picture on the screen is much more perfect and brighter than the same picture on the wall of your room.

The best screen size will depend on personal preference and your viewing distance. The most general recommendation for distance is (roughly) 1.5 screen diagonals for an HD projector and 1 diagonal for a 4K projector.

There are two main types of projection screen: fixed and retractable. Retractable screens can be motorized or manual.

When choosing a screen material, three factors can help ensure the best match with your projector and room:

    • Gain – gain affects the brightness of the image; a screen with a higher gain will give a brighter image
    • Color – color of the coating – screens are usually white or gray. Gray screens can increase contrast and provide deeper blacks
    • Texture – material – all our screens can bring out all the details in HD video up to 1080p. Some screens have a thinner base or “grain” and can be used with 4K
projectors Special “Ambient Light Reduction” screens can produce a crisp, colorful image even when the room lights are on.

Acoustically transparent screens let sound through, so you can place speakers behind the screen to make them invisible.

In response to the recent trend of outdoor movie nights, we’ve added a number of portable outdoor screens that are easy to set up and deliver clear, bright images.

    FULL STORY
Why a screen works better than a wall
I’ve had a projector in my basement media room for years and love it. I use it to watch movies and concerts. A big, beautiful picture is mainly due to the projector, but the screen also plays an important role.

Often when someone gets their first projector, they skip the projection screen to save money and just project onto the wall instead. A good quality screen does increase the cost of installing a projector, but it improves image quality and overall enjoyment so much that I think a screen is absolutely essential.

    Screen against a wall
The vinyl material and special coatings on the projector screen produce a smoother and brighter image than wall projection.

    Screen delivers smooth, crisp images
We offer a wide range of high quality screens from Vutek, Elite Screens and Screen Innovations. The screen material is vinyl, which provides a smooth picture. The vinyl is coated with special coatings that change the way the projector’s light reflects off the audience.

These coatings affect image quality such as brightness, contrast and viewing angle. By understanding them a bit, you can better match the screen to your projector and room.

What screen size do you need?
When it comes to TVs, we usually suggest using the largest screen that fits your space and budget. For projector screens, the main limiting factor is space. Because while there’s a big price difference between a 60-inch TV and a 75-inch display, there isn’t much of a difference between a 106-inch screen and a 120-inch one.

But I’m not saying that the more the better. Projecting an image that is too large may result in an image with less than optimal brightness or noticeable pixel structure.

Your screen size will determine how far away you have to sit for optimal viewing. For a 1080p HD projector, the general rule of thumb for viewing distance is 1.5 times the screen diagonal. So if your screen is 96 inches (2.43 m) diagonal, you should sit about 3.6 m away from the screen.

Another reliable approach is to multiply the screen view height by 3. Screen 100 “has a view height of 49″ (1.24 m). Multiply that by 3 and you get 147”, or 3.7m.

If you have a 4K Ultra HD projector, you can move closer to the screen. It’s much closer than usual, but when you sit closer, you’ll see the clarity and depth of the 4K picture better.

Of course, the “ideal” viewing distance is very subjective. After all, in a movie theater people are seated from the front row to the back.

Each screen model has several sizes, but if you don’t see the exact size you need, don’t worry. You can contact us by tel. 8499-391-72-14 and we will pick up everything you need.

Two main types of screen: fixed and retractable
There are actually only two main types of screen: fixed and retractable. The fixed frame screen requires a large area of blank wall space and is therefore most commonly found in dedicated home theater systems.

Retractable screens roll up when not in use. You can choose from inexpensive manually operated retractable screens and sleeker ones with a built-in electric motor to lower and raise the screen automatically.

    Fixed frame
When using a fixed frame screen, the screen material is stretched over a metal frame. Because the fixed screen doesn’t need to roll up and down, it can maintain a tightly stretched surface for a perfectly smooth image.

Fixed frame screens are also easier to install as you don’t need to connect power to them. For a specialized home cinema, this option is the best.

Most fixed frame screens have a thick frame covered in black velour. This frame creates a black screen, improving the perceived contrast of the picture. Also, when you’re setting up a projector, it’s not always easy to get the image to completely fill the screen. If part of the image flows onto the frame, the black border material will absorb it.

Screen manufacturers also offer fixed frame screens with ultra-thin bezels of about a centimeter. These screens provide the maximum image size for the required wall space, and they also look cool like a giant flat screen TV. But without a thick black border to hide the image overflow, you have to be very precise with your projector settings.

Screen Zero Edge, Elite Screen Thin or Aeon and Da-Lite Parallax Thin are examples of such edgeless screens.

Our selection of fixed frame screens includes models that come pre-assembled and ready to mount on the wall, as well as ready-to-assemble screens that can be quickly assembled with just a few basic hand tools.

    Retractable – Motorized
Not everyone can or wants to dedicate much of their wall space to a screen that will be empty most of the time – especially in a multifunctional space like a living room or family room.

If you want a screen designed for watching movies but otherwise out of sight, the most elegant option is a motorized retractable screen.

The screen rolls up into a long metal case that you attach to a wall or ceiling. Built into the case is a powerful built-in electric motor that can silently raise or lower the screen at the push of a button.

Most motorized screens are classified as “stretch free” – the screen surface hangs freely from the body. Unstretched screen surfaces may experience slight ripples, ripples, or imperfections.

On the other hand, tensioned screens use cable and claw systems that maintain constant tension, resulting in a smoother and more uniform screen surface. Tensioner screens are the most efficient type of retractable screen and are closest to the image quality of a good fixed frame screen.

Installing a motorized screen is a little more difficult than a fixed frame screen because you have to supply power to the motor. Also, most motorized screens have a trigger input, so the screen will automatically lower when the projector is turned on. This requires a low voltage connection between the projector and the screen.

Most people use their projectors for watching movies or sports rather than for normal daytime viewing. Thus, it is becoming popular to install a wall-mounted flat screen TV for viewing during the day and a motorized screen that lowers in front of the TV for watching movies at night.

    Pull-out – manual
The cheapest and easiest to install projector screen option is the manual pull-out screen. A spring-loaded roller mechanism inside the case spins the screen when you pull it, just like a regular window shade.

Handheld screens are mostly used in schools or offices, but they can be a good choice for home theater if you’re on a budget. The screen material and coatings are not up to par with motorized screens, but your image will look much smoother than when projected onto a wall.

    Selecting the right screen material
Once you have decided on the type and size of the screen for your theater, you should think about which screen material to choose. This is important because it determines how your projector will perform in a given room. The aspects of screen material selection that we will focus on are gain, color, and material.

    What is screen gain?
The amount of light from your projector that is reflected off the screen is called “gain”. Higher gain means more reflected light and a brighter image. The different screen coverage values applied to the base vinyl screen material determine how the different gain values are achieved. Higher gain can help provide brighter images on very large screens or in rooms with a lot of ambient light.

But, of course, that’s not all. As the screen gain increases, the optimal viewing angle decreases. When using a high gain screen, it becomes more important that viewers sit closer to the center of the screen axis.

Higher gain screens can also suffer from negative effects such as “hot spot” where part of the screen appears noticeably brighter. High gain screens may also reproduce colors and contrast less accurately than low gain screens.

Which screen color should I choose?
The color of the screen material mainly affects the contrast of the projected image.

White screens are the industry standard for their brightness, while gray screens do better with darker tones.

Gray screens, also called “high contrast” screens, were popular a few years ago when projectors had lower contrast capabilities than today’s home theater projectors.

Gray screens tend to be better than white screens at controlling the effect of ambient light because gray screens reflect less light overall. However, gray screens require more powerful projectors to compensate for their darker whites and lighter colors.

Screen Material: Important if you’re considering 4K
Even the cheapest drop down screen we sell has a screen texture smooth enough to deliver superb picture quality with HD video up to 1080p. But the smaller pixels of true 4K and “enhanced for 4K” projectors require a screen material with finer “grain” to show all the detail and depth. Micro Texture Surface by Screen Innovations in 9times thinner than conventional materials and is an excellent choice for 4K video.

    Screens for Special Applications
So far we have been talking about conventional projector screens. But we also have screens designed to solve specific problems that arise in some rooms

Screens for rooms with lots of light
In the past, projectors were found in dedicated home theaters or “caverns” as you might say. But in recent years, we’ve seen more and more people putting projectors in living rooms and family rooms where movies are watched with the lights on.

Light in a room—whether from actual lighting or through windows—washes out the color and contrast of projected images, making them look pale and lifeless.

Choosing a brighter projector or higher gain screen can help, but screen manufacturers have come up with another very effective solution: ALR (Ambient Light Rejecting) screens. They use special layers and coatings that reflect the ambient light of the room and respond only to the light coming from the projector. These screens provide bright images even in high ambient light conditions.

Screen Innovations is a leader in this field. Their Slate screens let in 65% of ambient light, while their flagship Black Diamond screens let in 85% – compared to 10% light suppression for regular screens.

Ambient reflective screens open up many possibilities for enjoying a large screen projector in rooms that simply won’t work with a conventional screen. Watch the video below to see how reflective screens work in a typical living room.

    Screens to hide your speakers
Have you ever wondered where the front speakers are in a movie theater? They are behind the screen. Someday look closely at a theater screen and you will see a pattern of tiny holes called perforations.

We have a small selection of acoustically transparent baffles, some perforated and some woven. The special screen material allows wall-mounted or in-wall speakers to be mounted behind the screen and still enjoy superior sound quality.

In addition, to avoid the clutter of three free-standing speakers at the front of your room, placing the speaker behind the screen ensures that sound and picture are seamlessly connected—just like in a movie theater.

70 beautiful design ideas, design photo

A TV set in a modern interior is not just its constituent element, but a compositional center around which other pieces of furniture line up. Since most of the attention is riveted to this place, it is necessary to design it visually attractive and harmonious in relation to the rest of the details. Today we will talk about the most interesting wall design ideas with a TV, as well as how you can hide it.

How to choose and install a TV screen

There are not so many options for installing equipment: put it on a TV stand or any prepared plane, and also hang it on the wall. The second method allows you to save space and more smoothly fit the TV into the living room. But it is more difficult to implement – several practical points must be taken into account.

Watching TV should be as comfortable as possible. The installation location is ideally determined by the eye level of the beholder, and any deviation from the desired position can cause inconvenience. To determine this point, you need to focus on the height of the sofa and adjust the location of objects.

When installing appliances, consider the direction of artificial and natural light. Direct rays will create glare on the screen, thereby interfering with viewing. It is also best not to hang the TV on the same side as a radiator or other heating devices.

It is important to determine if the wall can withstand the intended load. True, the weight of modern models can only become critical for drywall partitions. It is optimal to mount the bracket on a concrete or brick base. In addition, it is necessary to determine the amount of additional equipment in order to worry about the hidden placement of cables.

Once the practicalities have been decided, the design of the wall design can begin. A black screen on a plain background without additional items will only look appropriate in a minimalist interior. In other cases, it is recommended to organize the space in accordance with the requirements of the design project.

    Wall trim and decor

Partition with appliances can be distinguished as the center of the room by cladding it in a different way. Often, contrasting colors are selected for this, not being afraid to overload the room with bright patches – they will be balanced by the rest of the walls.

As an alternative, you can decorate the cover with paintings, as well as geometric patterns, smoothly outlining the TV screen around the perimeter. This method will fit well into modern style or pop art.

In addition to colors, you can use other finishing materials to create accents. For example, facing with decorative plaster, stone, cork surface, brickwork looks natural in modern interiors. Or traditional wallpaper with an ornament characteristic of the classics.

When using artistic expression, it is important to maintain a balance, as too bright details can distract attention while watching TV. The picture from the screen on a dark background is well perceived, especially in the evening. Light surfaces with an interesting texture will help maintain a sense of spaciousness even in a small living room.

The TV wall is an area where decorative elements can be concentrated. Wall photographs, collections of paintings, small panels or other aesthetic objects lined up around the center – the TV screen – look harmonious.

    Panels and partitions

It is not always possible to arrange a suitable background for equipment that would visually highlight the area. To solve the problem, you can purchase ready-made panels or make them yourself.

They come in a variety of materials to choose from, from wood with a beautiful deep grain to a partition covered in leather or fabric. The latter options will bring a little comfort to the interior, but they are more difficult to care for due to the dirt-absorbing texture.

These panels can cover the entire wall or be placed locally, according to the parameters of the TV screen. At the same time, they are suitable for mounting shelves, thereby creating additional storage space. For example, a set of neutral shades looks beautiful against a wood background.

    Plasterboard construction

Drywall products are often used in design because of the universal properties of the material, which is resistant to the negative effects of the environment, but most importantly – has good plasticity. With it, you can create not only frame structures, but also decorative elements of various shapes.

It is not recommended to hang a TV screen on a plasterboard partition, but it is possible to decorate the area around it with columns or stucco, especially if we are talking about an interior in a classic style.

Within the framework of modern trends, a monolithic plasterboard product with a niche for appliances or small shelves with decor and lamps will perfectly fit in. It must be remembered that contemporary tends to geometric shapes, which you need to focus on when choosing a structure.

    TV in niche

Today, furniture with built-in appliances or one that requires a niche for its installation is in fashion. This solution makes it possible to rationally organize the useful area, storage places and visually hide the plasma.

The selected area can completely match the size of the screen or leave additional space for mounting backlight with decor.

You can create a niche with the help of drywall constructions mentioned above, wooden frames or coatings with mirror tiles. They will create an unusual effect in the living room, doubling it.

TV in living room with fireplace

Once upon a time, in the pre-electric era, families gathered around the fireplace to warm up and watch the measured dance of the flames. The TV today plays a similar function, and the presence of these two objects at the same time causes an imbalance in the room.

There are two ways to solve the problem. Firstly, divide the living room into two zones – for entertainment at the TV screen and relaxation by the fire, preferably in different parts. At the same time, the fireplace can be real when it comes to a private house. It is recommended to fit the technique into the furniture, diverting attention from its modern look.

Secondly, you can buy an electric fireplace instead of an authentic copy, and place a plasma above it. Such devices have a modern design, thanks to which they will perfectly fit into any interior. True, they do not convey the charm of a real fire, but they will help diversify the living room.

Please note that the distance between two objects must be at least one meter. This is the disadvantage of the solution, since the screen is above eye level, which affects the convenience while viewing. You can purchase compact models or adjust the height of the sofa.

    TV and cabinet

Despite the variety of hanging models, you should not discard the traditional version with a TV set on a furniture plane. It has its own advantages: for example, the level of seating, mobility and the absence of the need for installation.

Can be used as a support wall in spacious rooms or a small TV cabinet in small spaces. However, if there is no need for additional storage spaces, you can opt for a minimalistic version, since discreet subject content is relevant in modern design.

Electronics can be placed on any free space of suitable dimensions, even a wall shelf. Here it is necessary to build on the principles of comfort and ease of use.

    Illumination options

You can decorate the TV wall with the help of lighting. Despite the fact that direct lighting creates glare on the screen, local sources do not affect the quality of the picture, on the contrary, they help to design the area as aesthetically as possible.

The type of illumination depends on the base for its installation. Basically, these are cabinets or plasterboard structures – they are created due to the LED strip or spotlights fixed under the pedestal.

Lighting is used not only to highlight the TV, but also other objects located in this area.

    How to hide the TV

This paragraph contradicts all the previous ones, in which the emphasis is on drawing attention to the wall with a TV screen. But there are situations when the equipment needs to be hidden from prying eyes and opened only at the time of use. There are several convenient options for solving the problem:

    1. Sliding panels. A simple, even design, behind the facade of which a TV is hidden. To access it, just pull out the crossbar. Often combined with a furniture set.

    2. Panels with swivel mechanism. A more elegant option that requires more space to turn the partition with the TV 180 degrees.

    3. Mirrors. These can be doors or sliding panels with a mirror finish. A great way to hide the device and visually increase the area due to the reflection effect.

    4. Painting. The screen can be placed in a frame, thereby disguising it as an object of contemporary art. Or block a niche with a TV canvas, opening if necessary.

Each of these solutions requires special skills to install, but the neat and beautiful result is well worth the effort.

Bathroom decor – modern ideas for storing towels

A towel is an essential attribute of any bathroom. Unfortunately, quite often such an important accessory performs an exclusively utilitarian function. But it can be used as an elegant bathroom decor!

How to choose towels and how to store them in the bathroom? This will be discussed below.

General requirements for the selection of bath towels

Quantity. Before purchasing bath textiles, you need to decide on its quantity. How many towels does a person need for basic needs? The calculation formula is quite simple: 1 copy for the face, 1 for the arms, 1 for the body, 1 for the legs. In total, each family member will need 4 towels. In addition, in individual cases, this ensemble can be supplemented with towels for the intimate area, for hair, a guest piece, etc.

However, this formula is not suitable for all families and not every bathroom. In small rooms, there is often only enough space for a common “hands + face” towel and bath sheets for each household member. Towels “to change” are usually stored outside the bathroom, due to space restrictions.

Dimensions. When choosing textiles, you should pay attention to the size. The largest are bath towels; their standard dimensions are 100×150 cm (or more). The smallest – for hands and face – have proportions of 50×90 cm and 30×30 cm.

Materials. Regardless of size and quantity, for bathroom decoration it is recommended to choose bath textiles mainly from natural, hypoallergenic materials – cotton, linen, bamboo or microfiber. They have increased wear resistance, do not fade and perfectly absorb moisture.

Colour. There are two options for choosing the color of towels in the bathroom: harmonization or accentuation. In the first case, textiles are selected to match the main range of interior decoration (for example, in the same range with wall tiles or flooring).

In the second case, the towels serve as the main accent in the room, creating a color contrast with the finishes and sanitary ware. It is most appropriate to use contrast in bathrooms in the style of minimalism, as well as high-tech, where all large surfaces are made in a monochrome palette (white, black, gray).

You can use more than just plain textiles to decorate your bathroom. Towels with patterns or embroidery help to stylize the interior, make it more comfortable and expressive.

White towels are a versatile decoration for any bathroom!

Ideas for storing towels in small and spacious bathrooms

Residents of small city apartments know firsthand how valuable every centimeter in the bathroom is. Therefore, a minimum of space is allocated for storing textiles. But even in such conditions, the room needs a beautiful decor. The most successful ways of placing towels are:

    – traditional shelves. They do not take up space on the floor, and if you beautifully roll the canvases into tubes, you can do without additional decoration of the walls;

    – wall displays. They are a frame (made mainly of metal or wood) and small shelves, turntables or other attachment mechanisms. Such displays are designed to store several towels at once, and their non-standard shape serves as an original decor for the bathroom;

    – regular hooks and rods. Hooks with a chrome or lacquered surface, mounted near the sink, are perhaps the most practical and quick way to access towels. Often, in the design of the dressing table, on which the sink is planted, a special bar is provided for hanging towels;

    – if there is a niche in one of the bathroom walls, be sure to use it to organize the storage system. Here there is a place not only for towels, but also for other bath accessories.

The options for decorating a large bathroom are only limited by your imagination. In view of this, in the search for ideas for storing textiles, you can not worry about the lack of space. Here are the most common options for storing towels in the bathroom.

Shelving. The range of bath racks is striking in its design diversity. They can be made of metal, wood, or other material, and their design may include shelves, rails, doors, or other mechanisms.

Baskets and boxes. Rattan baskets and containers are a godsend for the bathroom. Their main advantage is mobility, which allows you to place storage on any surface, whether it is a shelf under the sink or a niche in the wall. A set of several of these baskets allows you to neatly organize the space and helps solve the problem of functionality.
