Fans of Tinseltown’s rich and famous, rejoice! We’ve brought together some of the most amazing celebrity pads, all steeped in cinematic history. From Marilyn Monroe to James Dean, Judy Garland and Liberace, discover the palatial properties that some of the most beloved Silver Screen stars once called home…

Liberace’s secret West Hollywood townhouse

American pianist, singer and actor, Liberace, was known and loved for his flamboyant costumes and trademark candelabras, which he would place on top of his piano before a performance. The one-of-a-kind showman even had a movie made about his life, Behind the Candelabra, which starred Michael Douglas, Matt Damon and Rob Lowe, proving that his musical legacy is still enduring. Let’s take a look at the musician’s secret West Hollywood townhouse…

Liberace’s secret West Hollywood townhouse

Amazingly, the property was built by MGM Studios in 1937 and is part of The Shoreham, a private cluster of 15 apartments and townhouses that were designed to house the film company’s prized stars. The Regency-inspired estate is set behind iron gates and is surrounded by tranquil gardens and koi ponds, just above Sunset Boulevard.

According to Dirt, everyone from Janet Leigh to Veronica Lake and Katherine Hepburn lived on the West Hollywood estate.  This pad, considered one of the largest townhouses on the street, became the secret hideout of Liberace in the 1970s. Before the pianist moved it, the place belonged to Barbara Marx, the fourth wife of Frank Sinatra.

The secluded spread spans 1,937 square feet and, despite the fact it was once owned by Liberace, the interior is surprisingly demure. Every single room is overflowing with gorgeous original features that have been lovingly preserved or restored over the years. These include its elegant walnut floors, high ceilings with decorative crown mouldings, stately Italian marble fireplaces and wrought-iron balustrades.

Across the home’s four floors you’ll find a light-filled entrance hall with elegant columns, a formal living room, a chef’s kitchen with a breakfast nook and adjoining dining room, three bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Throughout the property there are various sets of French doors that open to the home’s numerous exterior decks and balconies – including one on the ground floor that overlooks a koi pond. There are two master suites and one comes complete with a bathroom that showcases a tub encased in mirrors and wood, as well as a tasselled Tiffany chandelier that was commissioned by Liberace himself.

The townhouse is topped by a 2,000-square-foot roof terrace, equipped with a built-in barbecue, a bar, a shaded dining zone and a projector screen for alfresco movie nights. Plus, just look at that view! In April 2022, the spread landed on the market with a surprisingly low asking price of $2.9 million (£2.4m). The price was later chopped to just shy of $2.7 million (£2.2m), after failing to find a buyer. If you’re keen, it’s still up for grabs via Westside Estate Agency.

Cary Grant’s hillside hideaway

During the height of this career, which saw him star in classics like North by Northwest and Holiday, Cary Grant resided in this stunning hillside mansion. The palatial pad can be found right next door to the iconic Playboy Mansion, but it’s also just 10 minutes away from the world-famous Sunset Strip, making it perfectly located for a Hollywood legend.

The single-storey house was built in 1934 and spans an impressive 7,371 square feet. Yet despite its age, the house likely looks a lot different than it did when Grant owned the place, thanks to a recent internal renovation. Bright, beautiful and filled with natural light, the property has an easy interior flow and boasts both open rooms and cosy spaces for unwinding.

Blending contemporary design with historic touches, there are still plenty of characterful details that reveal the home’s history. From natural timber floors to full-height porcelain fireplaces, steel-framed Crittall-style doors, original built-ins, panelled ceilings and porthole windows, there’s much to like about this period property.

There are eight bedrooms and 10 bathrooms across the estate, as well as a modern kitchen, media room, gym and office. This luxurious celebrity bedroom comes with his-and-hers bathrooms and dual closets.

There’s also a stunning family room with a vaulted wood ceiling and a chic bar. Perhaps Grant hosted lavish parties in this space, with the likes of Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and James Stewart in attendance? Elsewhere, you’ll find private guest quarters with a bedroom and kitchenette – perfect for VIP visitors.

Most of the rooms are arranged around the back yard, allowing for direct access to the enclosed half-acre lot. The ultimate party house, outside you’ll find a tranquil oasis with plenty of entertaining areas. There’s a swimming pool, porch swing and an expansive rooftop deck that provides enchanting views across the lights of Los Angeles.

In August 2021, the Hollywood classic landed on the market with Rodeo Realty for almost $8 million (£6.7m). The house was being sold by singer-songwriter, Betty Moon, who famously rented her Malibu beach house out to Friends star Matthew Perry, for $35,000 (£29k) a month, but after several price changes the listing was eventually removed. It remains unsold to this day.

Yvette Mimieux’s Bel Air estate

Compass ; Film Star Vintage / Flickr CC BY 2.0

Described as “one of Bel Air’s prettiest homes”, this dreamy estate belonged to Silver Screen star Yvette Mimieux and her husband, Howard Ruby, for more than 40 years. The power couple bought the house in 1979 and have maintained its exquisite Mediterranean design, likening the property to a bejewelled Fabergé egg – and once you step inside you might just understand why.

Known as ‘Il Sogno’ (which translates to ‘The Dream’), the property has been described as one of the great “true” Bel Air estates. Dating back to 1928, the interior was inspired by the glistening villas found on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Grand and opulent, the 12,000-square-foot home is kitted out with hand-painted beamed ceilings, carved stone fireplaces, green marble and large arched windows.

There are six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, as well as a ballroom-sized party room and a formal dining room. One of the bedrooms has been finished with a dramatic domed ceiling, decorated with frescoes, while the orangery is almost too grand to be true. The interiors were designed by Kalef Alaton, who was responsible for the rooms found at the iconic Hotel Bel-Air. Every space is filled with antique rugs, classic paintings and refined upholstery.

The library is perhaps the home’s most enticing room, though. Hand-lacquered, it boasts a central skylight and dramatic chandelier. We’re sure Mimieux spent a lot of time in here, reading through scripts or rehearsing the lines for some of her most celebrated roles. There’s no denying that ‘Il Sogno’ is one of the world’s most luxurious homes.

The chef’s kitchen is likely the most modern addition. Designed for daily use and event catering, it comes complete with commercial-grade appliances and plenty of counter space. Many of the rooms open up to the garden, allowing for a seamless indoor-outdoor flow and rooms flooded with natural light.

Elsewhere on the one-acre estate, you’ll find a four-car garage and a characterful wine cellar where intimate tastings can be enjoyed. Step outside and you’ll find spectacular grounds that appear plucked from a European estate. There’s a tiled swimming pool, elegant fountains, dreamy lawns, formal gardens and specimen trees designed by David Jones, the personal florist of Jackie Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor, Compass claims.

Mimieux and Ruby decided to part ways with their longtime home in April 2021, placing a $45 million (£37. 4m) price tag on the estate. We don’t know about you, but we think this stunning abode is worth every single penny…

James Dean’s Spanish hacienda

Perched on the east side of the Hollywood Hills, this beautiful Spanish-style villa at 6225 Quebec Drive was where the tragic cultural icon James Dean was first discovered.

According to Hollywood history, the aspiring actor was living in the downstairs suite of the home where he worked as the caretaker for Hal B Wallis, head of Warner Brothers studios.

At one of Wallis’ many exclusive get-togethers, frequented by acting royalty, Dean was quickly discovered by an executive who cast him in the seminal role of troublemaker Jim Stark in Rebel Without A Cause.

The property sits on a lot of more than 11,600 square feet, with the guest suite where Dean lived as he launched his career located below the main house. To this day, the wing is kept as private quarters for visitors, though it lacks none of the luxuries of the main house.

The guest suite can be accessed via a staircase which opens out into lavish living quarters, or through a private entrance in the garden which leads into Dean’s old bedroom. Pretty handy for sneaking back from late-night parties beneath the Hollywood lights!

The iconic actor’s former bedroom may be modest in size compared to most A-list pads, but we think this is a pretty swell space for the young star to call home before he made his millions.

Dean’s dwelling also had its own spacious living area, complete with a roaring fireplace – not too shabby for a live-in handyman. Unsurprisingly, the home last sold in 2018 for $3.8 million (£3.2m).

Audrey Hepburn once lived in this elegant Colonial Revival home at 100 Delfern Drive with her first husband, actor Mel Ferrer. When it comes to kerb appeal, this property has bags of it thanks to double wrought iron gates, double-height columns and an intricate stone entrance way.

Audrey Hepburn was one of the world’s most beloved Hollywood stars but during her life, she often shied away from the gleam of the spotlight. Although she had houses dotted around the LA enclave, her heart remained in the sleepy Swiss town of Tolochenaz that she called home.

Rather unsurprisingly then, when the Old Hollywood estate, steeped in silver screen history, went on the market in 2019, it sold for an eye-watering $11 million (£9. 1m).

With vast swathes of glass and sleek lines, this modernist marvel is known as Byrdview, one of Hollywood’s most famous celebrity estates. Located on Farralone Avenue, the property is nestled amongst the star-studded LA enclaves of Hidden Hills, Sierra Canyon, and Viewpoint, and once belonged to the ultimate crooner, Frank Sinatra.

Some of the most famous people of the 20th and 21st centuries have called Byrdview home. Sinatra lived here in the 1950s and 60s, inviting the Rat Pack and the rest of his exclusive cohort to join him for swinging house parties.

Yet, this unique property is far more than just a celebrity hotspot. Byrdview is a rare relic, a piece of architectural and art history: it was designed by the legendary William Pereira and remains one of only four homes he built. Throughout the seven-bedroom house you’ll find vast expanses of floor-to-ceiling windows that embrace the great outdoors, folding outwards and filling the home with natural light and fresh air.

Naturally, the time capsule celebrity home offers ample room for entertaining. In fact, this kitchen is one of two in the house and comes equipped with a bar, ready to greet guests with refreshments upon arrival. If you were wondering just how much room the celebrity tenants had to entertain in, the property spans a whopping 8,161 square feet, including space for 100 cars out front – more than enough space for one hell of a party!

International superstars Rihanna, Usher and Mariah Carey have also filmed music videos at Byrdview.

Despite the fact that his last movie hit our screens in 1991, James Stewart, or Jimmy as he is also known, remains one of history’s most iconic actors. The It’s a Wonderful Life star enjoyed a film career that spanned almost 60 years, so it’s unsurprising that he had plenty of cash for snapping up real estate across Los Angeles – and it was here that the enduring actor lived for five decades.

The palatial property can be found on the coveted North Roxbury Drive, in the heart of Beverly Hills, just north of Sunset Boulevard. The Italian-style villa spans more than 15,000 square feet and sits on a spectacular 1. 3-acre plot. In fact, Stewart’s former address is one of the largest in the area and encompasses two lots. The Academy Award-winning actor reportedly purchased the land in order to expand his beloved garden, Mansion Global suggests.

The Agency

Though James, lived at this address for nearly 50 years, the house has changed dramatically since then. In fact, after he passed away in 1997, at the age of 89, the estate’s new owner built a brand new Mediterranean-inspired villa that still offers plenty of Old Hollywood charm. Make your way through the home’s park-like grounds and you’ll find yourself in a lavish entrance foyer. Glistening and grand, the space showcases the home’s many high-end fixtures, including inlaid marble, beautiful millwork crown mouldings and coffered ceilings.

The property is truly stunning and appears as if Jimmy Stewart never left. There are nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, as well as plenty of spaces for entertaining and relaxing. The wood panelled library is perhaps the finest space and oozes classical refinement. Other key amenities include a screening room, a 1,000 bottle wine cellar, a tasting room, a gym and a sauna, all of which add to the home’s pedigree. How’s that for billionaire bling?

There’s a spectacular luxury kitchen with a centre island and floor-to-ceiling cabinets. It features double ovens, a glistening tiled floor and an adjacent sun room for informal dining. We’re sure Jimmy hosted many a dinner party during his time at the address, perhaps inviting Alfred Hitchcock, with whom the actor worked with for four iconic movies, Vertigo, Rear Window, Rope and The Man Who Knew Too Much.

The master bathroom is seriously vintage and we love that the space hasn’t been modernised. With a central soaking tub, antique dressing tables and a walk-in wardrobe, it’s well suited to a Hollywood icon. With such splendour, it’s no wonder that the house sold in 2021 for a cool $35.2 million (£29.3m) after previously being listed for $47.9 million (£39.8m) in 2018.

In 2019, Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi, purchased Adam Levine’s former Beverly Hills mansion for an eye watering $45 million. The 10,376 square foot property contains five-bedroom and a staggering 12-bathrooms, which does seem extreme but perhaps everybody in Maroon 5 wanted to bring a friend.

Hollywood Stars Homes Map – Find Your Fav Celebs!

So, the hot question that most people often ask is, “Where do Hollywood stars live?” As you would expect, many of them live in California, right in the heart of Hollywood. And guess what? We have a Hollywood Stars Homes Map! Our Beverly Hills celebrity homes map has rave reviews, too! Check out all the details below and let us know what you think of the ONLY comprehensive Hollywood Celebrity Homes Tour available.

Where do Hollywood stars live?

In reality, most celebrities don’t live in the city of Hollywood, but in Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, and Malibu. Since these Hollywood stars like to socialize with like-minded, and like-walleted people, tons of stars live and hang out near and around these areas. And while taking a stroll through these neighborhoods, if you glance at a face and spontaneously say, “Is that him/her?” then it probably is!

A Hollywood celebrity homes map, which you can buy several places along Sunset Boulevard, can help you locate the big mansions and homes of your favorite stars. There are also several bus tours available.

However, the paper map and bus tours are notoriously expensive and have recently come under fire for giving out false information. So, we cut through the clutter and created this tour of must-see locations!

Celebrity Star Map: The Paper Option

By using the map, you can carve out your own path as to which homes you would like to see on your tour instead of the pre-set, expensive tours. If you’re thinking about how to make the most of your tour, asking yourself “Where do most celebrities live?”, focus on Beverly Hills and Malibu – the places with the densest celebrity populations.

Pictured below is Linda Welton. Her family claims to have invented the “star map” decades ago. To this day she can be found on Carolwood Drive in Beverly Hills selling her star map for $25 a pop. It’s a cool souvenir, but let’s be real, who wants to read a paper map these days?

Beverly Hills Celebrity Homes

It is not too uncommon to see people confusing Beverly Hills for Hollywood. Hollywood itself can be quite disappointing for tourists as it is not as glamorous as most people expect it to be. There is no doubt that those expectations are well fulfilled for tourists when they enter Beverly Hills. This is where you find the grand estates of the celebrities and the opulent residences of Hollywood stars.

Some of the most renowned places in this area include Rodeo Drive, The Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Wilshire, Spago, The Polo Lounge etc. Some of the most famous Hollywood celebrities who live or have lived in Beverly Hills are Charles Chaplin, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Henry Fonda, Pamela Anderson, Donald Trump, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Madonna, Walt Disney, Gene Kelly, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, George Hamilton, among hundreds of others.

When you visit Beverly Hills with the mission of seeing celebrity homes, the place you might want to spend the most time north of Sunset Boulevard. Homes to the south of Sunset Boulevard are big but not as impressive as you would expect them to be. On the other hand, north of Sunset Boulevard leaves Malibu in the dust when it comes to sprawling estates worth hundreds of millions.

What’s interesting about the area is that it used to be an empty landscape between communities. Today, you see nothing but luxurious vehicles, huge homes, and the occasional star sighting! Actor Will Rogers happens to be the first mayor of Beverly Hills in 1926.

One of the highlighted homes in the area is of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. While it is located right in the middle of the Los Angeles metropolis, the cozy location between the mountains of the Hollywood Hills manages to provide the couple with great privacy. It’s also reported that Beyonce and Jay-Z just put in a $200 million offer on a newly built home in Beverly Hills.

Malibu (The Colony): Celebrity Star Maps

There is no other city in California that can beat Beverly Hills, except Malibu, when it comes to the number of stars that live there. It is interesting that before 1929, no one was allowed to enter this specific neighborhood along the beach, known as “Malibu Colony,” as it belonged to Frederick & May Rindge who kept it private. In 1929, it was opened for public and stars started to rent properties here. It was in 1930 that stars and other people living in this area were allowed to “own” their homes. The Colony is guarded by gates and it’s the privacy of the colony that most celebrity residents love about it.

Another really interesting thing about the homes here is that most celebrities come here to spend their vacations and leisure time. Very few stars live here permanently – most have homes closer to studios in Beverly Hills where they live while working. Then, when they have downtime, their Malibu vacation home is a short 30-minute drive away.

Some of the most famous stars who live here or have lived here at some point include Tom Hanks, Sting, Mel Brooks, Howie Mandell, Bill Murray, Rob Reiner, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Whoopi Goldberg, Steven Spielberg, among so many others. As stated earlier, it’s not easy or you could say, it is nearly impossible for the general public to disrupt the privacy of stars living here. However, there are certain hidden routes from which you could get a peek – hint Zonker Harris Accessway.

Now, whenever your mind wanders about “where are the Hollywood stars”, you know the two best places to find them.

10 Of The Highest Celeb Homes In The Hollywood Hills

Hollywood Hills has been home to many famous stars since the golden years of the motion picture industry. It is basically a residential area that is located in the central area of Los Angeles that offers its residents incredible views.

Approximately 23,000 people live in the 7.05 square mile area that includes the Hollywood Bowl, Griffith Park and nearby Forest Lawn Memorial Park, which is the well known celebrity cemetery. Neighboring areas you may have heard of are Universal City, Studio City and Burbank.

The homes are expensive, exclusive and many are surrounded by walls and gates to give the owners privacy from L.A. tour buses and paparazzi who might be out stalking celebrities who are busy living normal lives.

The area has a rich history of having megastar owners as inhabitants. Many of the celebrity owners wind up selling to other celebrity owners, so some of the homes have a long chain of famous owners. And, this may strike you as odd, but many celebrities are property flippers and others are landlords. We guess they are interested in stabilizing and increasing their income by diversifying rather than counting on maintaining their position on the A-list. After all, the Hollywood suits are a fickle bunch and getting more bottom-line than ever before.

The wonderful thing about owning a home in Hollywood Hills is it is peaceful, tranquil, is close to downtown Los Angeles, celebrity neighbors and fantastic views.

Some of the hundreds of celebrities who have come and gone from the Hills: Katy Perry, Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Britney Spears, Bryan Austin Green and Justin Timberlake – to name but a few.

We did our homework to come up with the most current list of celebrities who live high in the Hollywood Hills. If you take a tour, you may get a glimpse of a celeb out hiking – but chances are you will be lucky to see more than privacy gates. Stars are like everyone else and just want to live the non-working part of their lives without having to worry about public eyes upon them at all times.

10 Leonardo DiCaprio

It is not surprising that Leonardo owns about four homes – maybe more. But his Hollywood Hills home was his first and he bought it soon after his Titanic fame for $2 million. According to reports, he also purchased the two nearby land parcels to give added privacy.

He had a huge basketball court built on the property, much to one of his neighbor’s dismay, as it covers 21,700 square feet. Neighbors Ronald and Joan Linclau took the actor to court citing the basketball court construction damaged their nearby property, but the judge closed the case without awarding damages. The persistent Linclaus appealed the judgment and the case went back into court – apparently the decision was not overturned.

9 Robert Pattinson

The Twilight megastar, Robert Pattinson, bought this gorgeous Hollywood Hills home in the latter part of 2014 for $2.176 million, which is modest for his level of franchise wealth. The home is located in the area of the Hills which is considered a celebrity cluster. Lucky for girl-fave Pattinson, the home is located behind another home so the Hollywood celebrity home tours will be difficult to point out his digs. The home is a single-story, 1,940 square feet and offers an open and roomy feel. There are two-bedrooms, double-sided fireplace, vaulted ceilings and a small swimming pool, to name just a few amenities. All-in-all, the home is modest, comfortable and homey.

8 Keanu Reeves

7 Zac Efron

6 Halle Berry

The last report had Halle putting this mansion on the market for $15 million. Evidently, according to TMZ, this is where husband Olivier Martinez (then fiancé) and ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry, got into a overly-heated argument that bordered on violence. . Evidently, the past couple of years have been tough – partially because of Aubry’s child support settlement and partially because the newlyweds were denied their plans to move to France. Aubry would not agree to let their daughter move out of the state. Now her marriage to Olivier is apparently rocky. It looks like this Hollywood Hills home may continue to be the home of the award-winning actress and her daughter, at least for now.

5 Iggy AzaLea and Nick Young

Lovely rapper recording artist and model, Iggy Azalea, and Laker’s shooting guard, Nick Young recently bought a Hollywood Hills mansion for $3. 45 million. It’s large, 6,630 square feet size include six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, media room, two-car garage, a card room and a fantastic great room. The airy outside area hosts a guesthouse, fire pit, swimming pool and a full-size basketball court (of course!). The home previously belonged to singer Selena Gomez , who remodeled and added approximately 2,000 square feet to the home.

4 Jared Leto

Just a week or two ago, award-winning actor and musician, Jared Leto recently purchased a famous 1940s compound in West Hollywood Hills for $5 million. The over 50,000 square feet used to be the Lookout Mountain Air Force Station, which was the location Pentagon’s motion picture studio and soundstage. The mansion still includes a soundstage, plus art galleries, a theater, eight bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a swimming pool and courtyard. Leto is best known for his award-winning performance in Dallas Buyers Club.

3 Salma Hayek

What Travelers Are Saying

“My 3 friends and I did this tour today at 1:30pm. We had a great time! Our tour guide David was so funny, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He was full of cool facts and stories about the celebrities that live in the area, the celebrity homes and historical landmarks that we saw. The tour lasted just over 2 hours. We went through the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and different parts of Los Angeles. At David’s recommendation, after the tour we went to Saddlehouse on Sunset Blvd (where Charlie Sheen is known to frequent) where we had good food, awesome drinks and road their mechanical bull!

I would definitely recommend this tour (at $40, it’s cheaper than some of the other celebrity tours offered!)”

Tatler investigation: in the footsteps of the Louboutins

Who robbed the homes of Hollywood stars during the year?

While sitting under interrogation and sniffing, former hip-hop instructor Alexis Nyers told police a heartbreaking story. Thirteenth July 2009For a year, she and her friend Nick Prugo were drinking at Beso, a trendy bar on Hollywood Boulevard. A cheerful evening was interrupted by a call from a certain Rachel Lee asking her to come immediately. Niers didn’t even think to deny it: yes, she was aware that Prugo and Lee, former college classmates in an upscale Los Angeles suburb, had a dark history. In the language of the police report, two nineteen-year-old friends broke into houses with the intent of robbery. And the houses were owned by Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, Audrina Patridge, and everyone else, according to a report filed by the department.

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom lost their Rolex, Louis Vuitton bag, Alex Perry laptop and dress. In the meantime, this is what happened: Prugo parked his Toyota outside one of the mansions in the Hollywood Hills. It was later revealed that the house belonged to Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom. The raiders knew that the owner was not at home: at that moment the actor was filming in New York. The gang has long learned to track the movements of future victims on sites like TMZ (the main American resource dedicated to celebrities). It only remained to clarify the address at www.celebrityaddressaerial.com and check with Google Maps. The robbery was planned without leaving your chair.

Lee rushed to Bloom’s house in her white Audi A4 with another accomplice friend, nineteen-year-old Diane Tamayo. The four moved up the hill towards the actor’s dark, austere mansion. Nyers claimed that of course she didn’t want to go inside, but of course she followed the others. Prugo, Lee and Tamayo covered their faces with hoods – they knew that surveillance cameras were hung on the house. Prugo cut a hole in the fence with wire cutters, they climbed into the mansion, walked around the building, pulled all the windows and doors until they found one unlocked near the pool. That night, the robbers took about half a million dollars – in Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton suitcases, clothing and art. “Get the fuck out of here,” Nyers yelled, finally realizing what was going on. She ran out and immediately sat down to pee in the bushes.

One of the robbers has a collection of shoes.

On November 16, Niers arrived at the Los Angeles courthouse for preliminary interrogation. Not alone – on the tail she led the crew of the reality show “E!”, In which she agreed to take part a couple of weeks before. The producers secretly rubbed their hands, because the program, conceived as a report on the life of secular bums in Hollywood, suddenly acquired rating criminal details. Nyers, in all seriousness, shone the prison. The press had already signed her up as a full-fledged member of the Chic Ring gang – such was the name of the most successful gang in recent Hollywood history. A gang that consisted of the offspring of wealthy families from the Hills.

Outside the door, film crews from popular Hollywood and American TV stations were thumping, while Nyers sat quietly on a bench, letting the make-up artist give her the shine she needed.

A long-legged girl with a shock of black hair and shining green eyes was dressed in a short tweed skirt, a pink sweater and high-heeled louboutins. “And what? I have an amazing shoe collection that has grown by leaps and bounds,” she chirped. Perhaps unaware of how ambiguous that sounds under the circumstances.

Meanwhile, her friend Prugo was pointing hard at his other girlfriend, Lee, a Korean-American from Calabasas, another wealthy suburb of Los Angeles: “She was the engine of the whole thing, she always wanted to have designer clothes. Yes, not simple ones, but from the shoulders of celebrities, whom she raved about. In addition to Lee, the suspects in the case were Prugo himself, Niers, Tamayo, their nineteen-year-old girlfriend Courtney Ames, and twenty-seven-year-old club bouncer Roy Lopez.

The catch from Rachel Bilson’s dressing room amounted to three million dollars

From October 2008 to August 2009, the gang visited many Hollywood stars: in addition to Paris and Lindsay, the names of Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox surfaced in the case. High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale was lucky: her uninvited overnight guests were scared away.

But even without it, there was something to profit from. The cumulative catch of “Chic Ring” amounted to three million dollars: Chanel, Gucci, Tiffany, Cartier, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton. In Green’s house, for some reason, a semi-automatic rifle was added to the booty.

A week before the interrogation, sitting in a law office, Nyers denied the crime in very strange terms, hinting at either mental illness or a sophisticated fantasy: “I believe in karma and I believe that this whole ridiculous situation came into my life in order to teach me the secret meaning of life.

I see myself as someone like Angelina Jolie, only more energetically bringing goodness and beauty to the Universe in the name of the peace and health of our planet. I want to lead a charitable organization. To lead the country, after all.”

On the day of her interrogation, a reporter stopped her on the fly, asking for a quick interview. “I can’t,” the beautiful accused disappointed, “I’m going to make history,” and fluttered into the courtroom. The cameras are working.

Nick Prugo saw the events of the memorable night at Orlando Bloom’s house in a somewhat different light. “Yes, we weren’t at Beso at all then,” assured a slender young man with a thin face and brown eyes, sitting by the fireplace in his lawyer’s house on a rainy December evening.

Paris Hilton was robbed twice, the first time she didn’t even notice it

Seven proven burglary charges threatened him with two or, at worst, six years in prison, so Prugo was in big trouble. He was detained on September 17 and fingerprinted. Prugo denied everything. He was offered a deal with justice. He shook his head. A month later, he confessed to everything. “All this had such an effect on me that it became difficult for me to breathe. I couldn’t sleep, eat. I began to lose my hair, ”Prugo beat to pity.

“He confessed to crimes we didn’t even know he was involved in,” said lead investigator Brad Goodkin. “And although more accusations hung on me, I knew that I was doing the right thing,” Prugo sprinkled ashes on his head.

He said that on the night of the robbery of Bloom’s mansion, his parents left town. “And Alexis’ parents just gave her a kick, so she moved in with me.” Prugo claimed that his girlfriend fell into parental disgrace because she smoked OxyContin, popularly known as Oxy, a painkiller sold strictly by prescription, has become one of the most fashionable drugs in Hollywood. “It’s not true about Oxy,” Alexis retorted. Her lawyer stated that “the degree of credibility in Prugo’s testimony is questionable, to put it mildly.

Nick continued to yell at his girlfriend Rachel Leigh: “Orlando lives with Miranda Kerr, the famous Victoria’s Secret model, and Rachel said she was sleeping and seeing Victoria’s angel clothes in her hands.

“Alexis and I met Rachel and Diana right outside Bloom’s house and got inside without difficulty,” Prugo describes the incident. Surveillance cameras recorded four youthful figures with faces hidden by hoods. Everyone moved so as not to light up. And they did it very cleverly. “Well, how could Alexis be drunk as an insole in this situation?” Prugo asked rhetorically, alluding to Nyers’s complaints that she was almost unconsciously involved in the crime.

All robberies were modeled after Bloom’s mansion break-in. Lee called this action “go shopping.” “We grabbed the first bags that came across and stuffed them with junk, who liked what,” Prugo recalled. “In Bloom’s master bedroom, Rachel stole a Rolex for a tag, Alexis liked a laptop-sized Louis Vuitton bag. Miranda had an Alex Perry dress – you know, like on the catwalk. They took him too.”

Surveillance cameras recorded how, between three and four in the morning, two of the four figures scurry back and forth: they take full bags out of the house and load them into a car. The luggage was so bulky that one of the figures even stumbled under its weight. Prugo and Niers left the house at about five in the morning, and Lee and Tamayo went on the attack again, inflated. Lee allegedly said, “I want to grab some more art – I’m moving to Vegas, I’ll have to decorate the house with something.”

Later, Prugo confessed that he had sold all the Rolexes to a certain Johnny Ajar, Johnny Dangerous. The same type: a former prisoner, a notorious bandit, a buyer of stolen goods. Plus, being a promoter at the trendy club Les Deux, he often led minors through face control. During a search of Adjar’s apartment, the police found the same automatic rifle stolen from Green’s house. Johnny himself is now in Los Angeles on charges of possession of drugs and weapons. “He unfastened five thousand for about a dozen Rolexes. I thought in hindsight that this was a scam, but what can I do? Prugo complained.

It falls to the adults involved in this case – lawyers, police officers, parents, victims – to find the answer to the main question: why?

Stolen in Audrina Partridge’s house cost forty-three thousand dollars

“Why did they do it?” – the star of the TV series “Hollywood Hills” Audrina Patridge, whose house was robbed on February 22, 2009, is amazed, exactly on the night of the “Oscar” ceremony. “I watched the footage from the cameras, expecting to see thugs in masks – and there are just some kind of children!”

The question can be intoned in different ways: “Why them?”, “Why exactly them?”.

In the video, a young man and a girl, resembling Lee and Prugo, break into the Partridge house – the door was not locked. The girl looks unperturbed, the young man freaks out.

“They were carrying bags full of things,” Patridge says. “Jewellery that belonged to my great-grandmother, a laptop, my passport, jeans made especially for me.” The stolen money was forty-three thousand dollars. But Partridge believes that the thieves were more attracted to her fame: “The police told me that Lee was my fan. She didn’t just want to steal, she wanted exactly my things. Stalker, in short.

“Were teenagers just obsessed with stars?” asked The New York Times. “There is nothing to idealize them. They did it for the money,” Officer Gudkin is sure, “a thief steals, that’s his job.” That is what his experience suggests. But even Goodkin admits that he was struck by the hunting passion that showed through in the crimes of the gang.

“This is, of course, a stretch, but it seemed to me that the desire to dress up in someone else’s clothes meant for them to fit into the shoes of a stranger. Do you remember that guy in The Silence of the Lambs who made his own dress out of someone else’s skin?

Prugo disagrees with the policeman. He says he has never asked such philosophical questions. No questions. The whole story, as he puts it, looks more banal than ever: “Rachel just wanted clothes because she wanted to look good. And I just followed Rachel because I loved her like a sister.”

Nick Prugo met Rachel Lee in 2006 at a new school – from the old one he was asked for absenteeism. He was a problem child diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and needed special care. And not only supervision: he was prescribed psychostimulants and antidepressants. According to him, Lee was the first person he could call his best friend. Soon they were inseparable; when they didn’t see each other, they called back every now and then, sent text messages, hung in chat rooms.

Fashionista Li is described by her friends Prugo and Niers as “spoiled” and “spoiled”. She, too, was troubled, but in her own way. She had a conflict with her mother, an immigrant from North Korea, the owner of two training centers. Li hated her stepfather, whom her mother married a few years ago.

Prugo himself was also increasingly distant from his parents (his father was a senior vice president of a television company selling low-budget blockbusters): “There was a crack between me and my parents, and no one wanted to fix anything. But I don’t blame the ancestors. In everything that happened, only my fault and responsibility.

Together with a new girlfriend, he plunged into the world of fashion: “I fell in love with beautiful clothes, I liked to think of myself as a stylish guy.” He dreamed of becoming a designer of his own line. Lee dreamed of the same. Being more practical in nature, she even said that she was going to enter the Fashion Institute of Design in Los Angeles, as did the heroines of her favorite “Hollywood Hills”.

In their senior year of high school, Rachel and Nick were a rather carefree couple: they smoked weed, hung out at shops and cafes, hung out on the beach, went to parties. It all started that summer. Once Lee offered to climb into the house of her friend, who went on vacation with his parents. “I wanted to please her. Well, I agreed.”

“In the house I was not myself, my head was spinning, I didn’t know what to do with myself, it was so strange to be among other people’s things,” continues Prugo. “But Lee knew exactly why she was doing it from the very beginning. She was focused.” And at the same time relaxed: so much so that while the gang, for example, robbed the house of actress Rachel Bilson on May 9, she found time to drop into the toilet in a big way.

The door to Paris Hilton’s mansion was opened that night.

On their very first outing, they found a box of eight thousand dollars in cash under the bed. “Crap! Yes, I just flew up to the ceiling! Prugo admits. “We didn’t kill anyone, nothing like that, and everyone got four grand for a great life.”

The next day they went shopping on Rodeo Drive.

They had an almost nightly ritual called “checking the cars”: they cleaned up cash and credit cards left in expensive cars parked unlocked in the neighborhood. The paradox is that it was too luxurious a quarter for its inhabitants to be afraid of anything. Especially petty thieves. After checking the cars, the couple went shopping. This was the second part of the ritual. “We had favorite places, boutiques where starlets usually shop. We came out of there dressed to the nines, paid with cards – no one asked questions. Again: these were too expensive stores to ask buyers questions.

At the same time, Prugo got deeper and deeper into drug addiction. “I mean, I stole for the sake of coke,” he confesses (after he confessed to everything, the guy got into a rehabilitation program, and, according to him, is now finished with drugs).

He says he doesn’t remember when they decided to focus on celebrities. Most likely, everything happened by itself. “Lee was turned on the stars, on all these shows like “Gossip Girl” and “Hollywood Hills”, she watched them for miles. She liked the way these girls were dressed. Then we began to climb the sites. We were a small detective team.” We studied the layout of houses, the routes of the entrance, the regime of the inhabitants.

Paris Hilton was one of the first to be chosen. “Well, we thought she was a bit of a poo,” Prugo admits. “What, a sane person would leave the door open?” Will he scatter money everywhere in prominent places? On an October night in 2008, they visited the Hilton mansion. The door was locked. “But the key was under the mat! What a fool,” Prugo cannot restrain himself. But I have to admit that I was trembling all over: “Mom dear, I think, yes, I’m in the house of Paris herself!” This delight lasted a matter of moments, and then it was just a house from which I wanted to quickly make my feet.

While Lee was cleaning up everything that was badly lying, Prugo stood on the lookout. “I was constantly sweating, yawning and moaning every minute: “Let’s get out of here,” and Lee only repeated: “Nothing, it’s normal, we’re working.”

One of the muggers was crazy about the way the Gossip Girl characters were dressed. They grabbed a bottle of Gray Goose vodka from the heiress’s “club” room and cash that was shaken from her many handbags: “Fifty kopecks, hundreds.” They planned to take a little, so that the hostess would not even notice the loss, and they could visit again.

Paris didn’t really notice. And they did return for a repeat tour on December 19, 2008. But this time, they did not waste time. A new accomplice Roy Lopez appeared in the case. Paris was carried around for about two million, stuffed with jewelry in a Louis Vuitton bag. Lopez’s lawyer, of course, states that his client took nothing.

Among other things, the thugs found five grams of coke from Paris, treated themselves, but did not take it with them. “And then, having loaded the car, we drove down Mulholland Drive and knew for sure that this was one of the best moments of our lives,” Prugo recalls. “How can you believe the accusations of some thief!” – the side of Hilton is indignant at this.

After the interrogation, the crew of the reality show “E!” went straight to Alexis’ house to film her divorced parents, Andrea Arlington-Dunn and Michael Nyers, telling their youngest daughter, sixteen-year-old Gabriela, about what had happened to her sister. The action takes place in the living room. The TV show producer directs the process in the right direction. “Tell her, ‘Gaby, everything will be fine.’ The defendant’s mother is still dressed in the formal brown suit she wore to the courthouse. “Gaby, everything will be fine,” she repeats like a parrot.

Dunn, former Playboy Playmate of the Month, is now a masseuse and holistic lifestyle enthusiast. Her house is full of talismans and Buddha statues, which, as the woman naively admits, she and her new husband got after the closure of a Thai restaurant.

Papa Alexis, a tall man in jeans and a blazer, was once a cameraman on Friends. “A man wholly devoted to the industry,” as his ex-wife characterizes him, looked like after a severe mental trauma. “He has nowhere to live now,” is how Andrea explains why her ex-husband lives with her from time to time.

“My father and I used to fight all the time. He does not know how to be a father, ”Alexis admits. And, continuing the theme of the difficulties that have fallen on her, she mentions: “Besides, I had a drug addict boyfriend then.

But the difficult situation in the family was not the decisive factor. Once upon a time in Alexis’ life, twenty-year-old model Tess Taylor appeared. Nyers met the dark-haired bombshell in a dance class. “She became my soulmate,” says Alexis. “We hung out all the time, I loved dancing with my sister.” Both even starred in the DVD-movie “Student Party”.

This was the peak of their Hollywood career. And soon the producers of “E!” became interested in the girlfriends. The show was supposed to be called “Wild Beauties”, which was confirmed by the audience of the pilot issue: in the company of rapper Mickey Evalon, the girls smashed the Wonderland Hollywood club.

The next day, October 22, the police knocked on Alexis’ door with a search warrant. A Marc Jacobs handbag believed to have belonged to Rachel Bilson and a Chanel necklace owned by Lindsay Lohan were found in the house. Alexis denied everything: “I can show the checks.” When the heroine was taken away, the cameras continued to work. After a night in detention, she was released on a $50,000 bail. Taylor was released after interrogation.

Through Taylor, Alexis met Nick Prugo. “I don’t care about Prugo,” Alexis now says, “because he stole Tess from me. We all emanated jealousy: he, she and I. “Tess wanted me to be her best friend,” says Prugo, “they constantly fought with Alexis because of this.” Jealous of him immediately to both girls and Rachel Lee.

Alexis says that Prugo then told them that he worked as a stylist for one of his father’s films – that’s how he got both money and expensive clothes that he willingly lent to girls.

And that’s where, Taylor explains, the jacket she was seen wearing in the Ax deodorant commercial came from – an item police believe belonged to Bilson: “Prugo dressed me for this commercial.” Nick, however, insists that they were all well aware that the items were stolen, and that the story about the stylist was made up to fool Alexis’ mother. “Nick really loved the life we led,” says Alexis, “he loved parties, trendy clubs like Apple, Guys and Dolls, Teddyʼs, Ecco. It was just that his head was spinning when he saw that there were hanging around, for example, Emily Hirsch or Leonardo DiCaprio. It was real Hollywood for him.”

“They were the first to take me to a cool club,” agrees Prugo.

Meanwhile, the reality TV cameras are doing their job. And the producer sets the lines for another mise-en-scene: Alexis’s parents are arguing what to do with Alexis and Taylor’s endless parties. “Bend your line harder,” the producer directs, “you must be harsh parents, the girls are completely out of hand.”

Alexis goes out on the porch to puff on a cigarette and talk about the Chic Ring. “Rachel is a crazy kleptomaniac,” that is her version, “and a terrible manipulator! Yes, she was in charge. Nick is just a harmless dude. If it weren’t for her, he wouldn’t have come close to these posh mansions.”

At the beginning of 2009, according to the findings of the police, “Ring Chic” from a company of hooligans has grown into a full-fledged, well-organized criminal community.

From October to December 2008, they visited Paris Hilton’s mansion four times. And in February, personnel expansion began. The gang included Diana Tamayo, an illegal Mexican immigrant who wears the school title “Miss Smile”, and Courtney Ames, an old friend of Lee’s. “I want traaaavki,” she wrote in November on her Facebook page.

“I was against all these people,” says Prugo, “I really didn’t understand why Rachel was dragging them all to us.”

Ashley Tisdale was lucky: her uninvited guests were frightened off

Nevertheless, he was involved in planning another theft in the Paris Hilton mansion. This time they took jewelry for an amount far exceeding their previous appetites – two million dollars. Police say it’s mostly the same Roy Lopez that Ames brought in, who worked together at a diner in Calabasas. After the arrest of Lopez, most of the jewelry was found at his house and returned to the heiress: the guy clearly did not have a criminal talent to hide stolen goods.

Ames was only brought to trial in connection with the theft of Hilton jewelry. The police department had a photo of her at the Les Deux club with her boyfriend, the same stolen goods dealer Johnny Adjar: Ames is wearing a Diane von FÜrstenberg leather jacket off Paris’ shoulder. Presumably – because other wording is not allowed in the police.

Stolen – beautiful, amazing rags, according to Prugo – they happily shone in the coolest bars and nightclubs in Hollywood. It seems they were insatiable and fearless, these teenagers. They took risks already in the open. Yes, it was a bit of a shock when Audrina Partridge posted a video of the surveillance cameras on the Internet, and the video was then shown on television. The actress hoped that someone would identify the thieves, but, surprisingly, no one did.

“I was watching TV and suddenly I see us! I collapsed here,” says Prugo, “but Lee reassured me, like everything is fine.”

According to a report from the Los Angeles Police Department, Rachel Bilson’s Chic Ring mansion was visited six times from April to May, taking out 130,000 worth of belongings. Clothes, jewelry, handbags, cosmetics – so much that the gang had to float something on one popular beach.

Prugo says that they were planning the following goals at full speed, but it was already clear that the situation was shaking: “We were in treason, we became afraid, freaked out, freaked out, freaked out.” Even Li couldn’t boast of her former composure. In July, nerves passed, and she moved to Las Vegas to her father, a businessman from South Korea. Prugo helped her cross the desert in a car full of stolen goods.

Lindsay Lohan was the main fashion goddess for robbers

But Rachel Lee could not resist the last temptation: Lindsay Lohan. “She was her main fashion goddess, a style icon,” explains Prugo. The girl nevertheless returned from Vegas, and on August 23, Prugo, Lee and Tamayo visited the Spanish-style mansion owned by the actress. The extraction amounted to more than a hundred thousand. During the robbery, Lee and Tamayo jumped like crazy over Lindsey’s belongings. “I felt,” says Prugo, “that we shouldn’t have gone there at all. I felt with my skin that everything was about to come out into the open water.

On August 26, with the knowledge of the police and with the permission of Lindsay Lohan, the CCTV footage was posted on the TMZ website, and the tangle began to unwind. Lohan and Patridge compared the videos and saw the same people on them. The two cases were linked into one. Informants immediately began to work, hurrying to share their assumptions. And the police already had witnesses of how Prugo and Lee showed off their tricks at some party. The police then used Facebook to trace the contacts of the suspects. The alleged gang took on more and more clear contours.

Two weeks after Prugo spoke, the police filed charges against Adjar, Tamayo, Lee, Ames, Niers and Lopez. Lee was detained at her father’s house in Vegas, and during the search, she asked the officers several times if they would let her out if she told everything. “Hypothetically,” said the thief, “if I tell you where the stolen goods are stored, will it help me?”

“Rachael Lee was quite sure she had her things safely hidden,” continues the police report. But when the police found a coat belonging to Lindsay Lohan and nude photos of Paris Hilton stolen from her safe (which, by the way, was also unlocked), Lee’s mood changed dramatically. She was on the verge of hysteria, she felt sick.

“Lee asked the detective if he had spoken to the victims. The detective answered in the affirmative. The girl came into an excited state and asked: “What did Lindsay Lohan say to this?” So says the harsh police report. Lee was charged with burglary at the homes of Lohan, Hilton and Patridge.

It is not yet clear whether the “Chic Ring” case will go to trial. If so, affected celebrities will be called to testify. And some – and not only witnesses. Because Nick Prugo told too many secrets that were revealed to thieves behind the doors of mansions. And even though he was stamped with a “rat,” he is right in declaring for his part that he “just wanted to help the police in any way he could.”

Prugo sits at home while he waits for a decision on his case, studying online at the University of Phoenix and seeing a psychotherapist once a week.
