When choosing a decorating scheme for your child’s playroom idea, the more imaginative and colourful the better. It’s a dedicated and fun space for your children to spark and develop their little imaginations.

There are no separate rules that would specifically regulate children’s playrooms, Dmitry Lesnyak, GR advisor at BMS Law Firm, confirms. « When creating and maintaining a room, they are usually guided by SanPiN 2.4.3049-13 of 05/15/13, developed for preschool educational institutions. The document, in particular, contains requirements for cleaning and maintaining the premises, ”the lawyer told Izvestia.

According to SanPiN, the management must carry out activities “for disinfection, disinfestation and deratization (destruction of rodents)”. But in practice, these requirements are often violated in children’s playrooms, Dmitry Lesnyak says.

New standards

“In fact, shopping centers or entrepreneurs providing services for children in playrooms set the rules for such activities themselves,” stressed Moscow City Duma speaker Alexei Shaposhnikov. And although the primary task was to prescribe safety rules, legislators drew attention to the lack of separate sanitary standards.

There is no such thing as a “children’s playroom” in the legislation, and, accordingly, there is no regulatory framework. In February, the Moscow City Duma published draft amendments to the Federal Law “On the Basic Guarantees of the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation” and “On the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population,” which proposes introducing the term “temporary child care.”

In terms of sanitary and epidemiological rules, the bill obliges employees of organizations that offer “temporary childcare” services to have a medical book and regularly undergo “hygienic education and training”, and parents – “confirm that the child has no infectious diseases. ”

The document has been sent to the State Duma for consideration; it has not yet been registered in the database of bills. However, deputies are already responding positively to the initiative.
