Wooden cladding have become an increasingly popular choice for homeowners due to its durability, colour options and easy-maintenance. They can be used for both external and internal applications and form a protective layer on the building. They are not structural elements and hence carry no load. However, they are more than just decorative elements. They also help in aiding sound insulation. Wooden cladding can also be treated with fire retardant and anti-termite properties.

Weathergroove is the largest timber panel product available in INDIA and comes in a wide variety of choice ranging. The EcoWall WOODSMAN is one of their most versatile and durable products with flexible joining options and an uneven, rugged wooden texture. Their products have a third party certified Platinum GreenTag rating which makes them an environmentally-friendly choice. They are also a part of the Product Health Declaration and Declare labeling systems hence, their products contain no toxic materials.

So, why choose EcoWall WOODSMAN from all the market available ranges? Here are a few reasons.

Colour and Texture

Timber being a natural material inspires a feeling of timeliness and warmth. One can choose from a variety of textures and shades. EcoWall Woodsman Architectural panel comes with a natural grain texture that displays both knots and curves to provide a unique, wooden finish.

Versatility

Properly seasoned wood can withstand a variety of weather exposures. There are also no vertical grooves on the panels which would otherwise collect dust. The panels can be joined both vertically and horizontally. Any gaps formed by joining the pieces can be removed by using H Mould Joiner or an Aluminium Vertical T Joiner.

Environmental Friendly

Wood is a naturally sourced renewable material. All other options including glass, PVC, or cement can increase the carbon footprint of your home and in some cases (like glass) provide poorer insulation. Wooden cladding not only looks aesthetically pleasing but can be easily recycled, renewed or painted over to provide a whole new look! Due to the low wax percentage in the product, it is 100% recyclable as opposed to composite panels.

Economical

Wooden cladding are among the cheapest options among their contemporaries. The cost per square foot of wooden cladding is much lower than glass or PVC. So you get to kill two birds with one stone. EcoWall is available in boards of dimensions 3660 mm x 1220 mm that weigh 44.7 kg each and thickness of 9.5 mm which makes it ideal for external applications.

Benefits of EcoWall WOODSMAN:

All grooves can be hidden by using H Mould Joiners or an Aluminium Vertical T Joiners. The individual panels do not have any grooves on them.

Natural, rough wooden grain finish with patterns of knots and curves

Using EcoWall as external cladding comes with 25 years of protection for your home guaranteed.

The panels can be joined without using any glue or artificial binders. So there is no need to worry about toxic fumes. Overall, the cladding contain 97% wood and 3% wax only which makes it fully recyclable.

Design of NFS of any complexity

DIAT systems occupy a leading position in the supply of high-quality end products – the facade – to the Russian and foreign markets. Undoubtedly, NFC is a promising direction of the domestic construction industry, and the introduction of increased energy saving standards, as well as the absence of “wet” processes in the work, made this technology unique for use in our country.

Designing hinged ventilated facades (HVF) is necessary for construction and installation companies that perform work on large-scale facilities (shopping and office centers, hotel and entertainment complexes, administrative and residential buildings). Our facade systems are suitable for small houses and country cottages whose owners decide to insulate and improve the appearance of their building. The product is the development of project documentation – a set of documents necessary for the production of construction and installation work on the facade using the IAF DIAT.

How the ventilated facade system works

  • 1 NVF panels, that is, we are talking about the materials used for cladding
  • 2 Metal frame of the hinged façade system (so-called load-bearing frame)
  • 3 Facade dowel, i. e. dowel for fastening thermal insulation materials
  • 4 Mineral wool thermal insulation material (respectively, ventilation facade insulation)
  • 5 Part of a wall that can be either load-bearing or self-supporting. And as a material, monolithic reinforced concrete, brick, light blocks are used, but with a density not lower than 800 kg / m3

Facade cladding with Alucom systems

Facade cladding is easier and more convenient if you choose Alucom façade systems.

Each building in the city has its own, different from other buildings, appearance, that is, a facade. The term of its operation also depends on how competently the facade cladding of a particular structure is made. Indeed, over time, any house gradually collapses, and cracks, damp spots and other characteristic signs of old age appear on its facade. Over time, the cladding begins to collapse. And if repairs are not made on time, the building may fall into an emergency state.

That is why they try to protect the facade from the effects of the environment and other factors affecting its condition. Any facade must have low heat transfer, high fire and frost resistance, good sound absorption and optimal weathering of water vapor. Let’s not forget about aesthetics, because the appearance of the building makes it more beautiful and harmonious, distinguishing it from other architectural structures.

Building façade cladding can be made using a variety of building materials and using different technologies. We want to draw your attention to the most popular and traditional ways by which the facade of the house is clad.

Previously, to protect the facade of a building, it was treated with various paints and varnishes or covered with decorative plaster. To create the so-called wet facade, the walls of the building are insulated, plastered, and then painted in one color or another. This technology is very simple, but it can only be implemented in dry weather. And the durability of such a system is inferior to the service life of a system of ventilated facades. Currently, it is ventilated facades that are gaining popularity and are more often used for facade cladding.

Ventilated facade cladding

Ventilated facades have been actively used for many years in developed European countries, for example, in Germany and Finland – these systems have been used for more than 35 years. In Russia, this technology has existed for about 20 years and is just beginning to gain its popularity. With the advent of new technological elements, the installation of a ventilated facade can be completed in the shortest possible time with minimal labor costs.

A ventilated façade has a number of advantages. Due to natural ventilation, the microclimate inside the premises improves, which allows saving on the installation of air conditioners. At the same time, moisture condensate does not accumulate on the insulation, which allows you to keep warm. Consequently, heating costs are reduced. The high fire resistance of materials used in the cladding of a ventilated facade provides additional protection against fires. We also note that the ventilated facade has a good level of sound absorption.

Designs and requirements for ventilated façade cladding

  • optimal load strength
  • wall alignment option
  • high resistance to wind loads
  • mobility of elements under static loads (considering the weight of the insulation and cladding, as well as wind loads and changes in outside air temperature)
  • corrosion resistance
  • high technology system
  • simplicity, ease and high speed of installation.

Ventilated façade systems

The ventilated façade can be finished at any time of the year and under any weather conditions. At the same time, there is no need to level the outer walls of the building or perform any other preparatory work. Finishing facades in this way takes a minimum amount of time due to its functionality.

We also pay attention to the possibility of choosing a heater: it is allowed to use both glass wool and mineral wool or expanded polystyrene (usually it is used for the basement of the house). The air gap in the finishing of facades (ventilated facades) usually occupies about 25% of the volume, the remaining 75% is filled with insulation.

PVC siding

Recently, building façade cladding with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) panels has become widespread. This material is often referred to as vinyl siding.

Vinyl siding can transform different types of facades, giving them an attractive, aesthetic look. The demand for PVC siding is also due to its attractive price.

It is mainly used for facade cladding of commercial buildings (shops, offices, administrative buildings). The raw material for the manufacture of such cladding panels was polyvinyl chloride – a material with excellent decorating properties and is distinguished by the breadth of the color spectrum and a variety of textures. The technology for the production of PVC siding provides for the addition of plasticizers to its formulation – this component owes the product high resistance to deformation.

The modern market presents various types of PVC siding. The panels differ in the type of installation (they can be vertical and horizontal), have a different shape and appearance. Types of material that imitate wood texture are in great demand: they look like a log wall or ship board.

Benefits of PVC siding

  • High strength. Vinyl siding has a resilient and elastic surface that is resistant to deformation. It is able to withstand mechanical impacts of medium strength, such as impacts of pebbles. At the same time, the material is not damaged and does not lose its shape.
  • Resistant to adverse weather events. PVC siding is not afraid of either direct sunlight or excessive moisture. The material retains its properties both in the most severe frosts (up to -50°C) and in the sizzling heat (up to + 50°C), it does not deteriorate even with appropriate temperature changes.
  • Resistant to fungal and other organic damage. Vinyl siding is resistant to mold and does not grow mosses, algae, and other vegetation that kills most other building materials. This is due to the lack of properties of the product to accumulate moisture. This property also allows the material to avoid corrosion.

Facade cladding with stucco

Textured stucco remains popular among traditional finishing building materials. This method of finishing the facade improves its visual appearance, allows you to give the building an original design. Possessing good technical characteristics, plaster cladding also serves as a protective barrier in relation to the negative effects of the external environment.

Plaster, widespread in recent years, has a characteristic textured surface and is able to withstand precipitation, ultraviolet radiation, mechanical and chemical influences. Modern types of this building material include silicone, silicate, acrylic and mineral plaster. Varieties of plaster have some differences among themselves in terms of the degree of elasticity, flammability, durability and price. However, among the features of any plaster – a large number of its advantages.

Benefits of finishing the facade with plaster

  • Vapor and water resistance. Plaster is deprived of the ability to both pass and absorb moisture, so it can guarantee the protection of the outer walls of the facade of any building and structure.
  • Resistance to temperature extremes and other adverse environmental factors. If you live in a region with a sharply continental climate, where the seasonal temperature difference is very large, the advantage of this plaster quality is obvious. The plaster is able to perfectly withstand showers, snowfalls and even hail, as well as any influence of sunlight and wind.
  • Wear resistance. Despite the fact that the façade finish is subjected to strong and frequent mechanical impacts, the cladding in the form of plaster withstands even significant mechanical disturbances without losing its qualities.

Clinker tiles

This facing building material was invented in Holland a couple of hundred years ago. Today, clinker tiles are used in all construction areas, including in order to transform and insulate facades. Facing tiles of this kind are produced using slate clay, oxide dyes and special additives. Being processed at ultra-high temperatures, the material acquires strength and uniformity. Clinker tiles are distinguished by a variety of types, among which a place of honor is occupied by facade tiles, which have the form of facade thermal panels. For such purposes, tiles imitating brickwork are especially popular.

Clinker itself is considered to be a low-porosity material that does not provide good thermal insulation. Therefore, if you are going to not only protect, but also insulate the facade of the house, it is preferable to use clinker thermal panels equipped with insulation.

Benefits of facade clinker

  • Long service life. Features of the material and its technological characteristics allow the coating not to lose its appearance and qualities for half a century.
  • No hygroscopicity. Due to this property, the product is resistant to temperature extremes, it excludes the penetration of moisture, as, for example, in porcelain stoneware.
  • Light weight – this quality makes it possible for the product not to exert a load on the foundation part of the building and not to create increased pressure on its facade.
  • Environmental properties of the material. The main raw material for the production of a clinker facade is not chemicals, but a natural material – clay.

Facing bricks

Facing bricks are also used for facades. The smoothness of the front faces of a brick of this type allows you to transform the appearance of the facade of the house, give it aesthetics and presentability.

The second name of facing facade brick is face brick. It is used as a decorative material in the design of structures for various purposes. Along with the decorative effect, this building material creates additional protection for the building. In terms of physical characteristics, facing bricks are not inferior to building bricks. To use such a brick for facade cladding means not only to insulate its walls, but also to protect the facade from negative environmental factors.

Depending on the production technology, facing bricks can be silicate, glazed, gypsum-pressed or ceramic and, accordingly, have a different surface texture. Now the facade brick with a smooth surface, imitating natural stone, has become especially popular.

Advantages of facing bricks

  • Possession of low porosity – this makes the material durable and resistant to both temperature extremes and other negative environmental influences.
  • Breadth of assortment – on the market, facing bricks are represented by many types of different textures and shades. This opens up unlimited possibilities for the realization of design ideas and fantasies.
  • Facing brick is able to remove harmful substances that fall on its surface from the external environment. With precipitation in the form of rain, this material has the property of self-cleaning.

Beautiful, insulated and durable facades prolong the life of buildings. Facing materials allow you to transform the facade, make a house or other building warm, cozy and aesthetically attractive. When choosing a material for finishing the facade, it is worth considering the climate, the structure of the building, as well as your own taste. There are a lot of decent materials for this now.
