Jada smith house: Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith Buy $11.3 Million Hidden Hills House – DIRT

All the Houses They Have Owned Together, in California, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania

This story was originally published in April, 2021; it has been updated to reflect new information.

Over the course of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s 26 year relationship, the couple has accomplished quite a lot. Whether it be acting, singing, rapping, or producing, the Smiths can do seemingly anything—including investing in numerous impressive properties across the globe. Much like the multi-hyphenate couple themselves, their real estate portfolio has quite the range, including a massive Calabasas mansion—and even a $2.5 million motor home (yes, really!). Below, take a look at all nine properties that Mr. and Mrs. Smith have called home over the last two decades.

An $11.3 Million Mansion, Hidden Hills, California

In September of 2021, Dirt reported that the Smiths purchased an $11.3 million mansion in Hidden Hills, with six bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. The 10,417-square-foot pad sits on 1.19 acres and boasts a refrigerated wine closet, a soundproof movie theater, and a game room with a wet bar.

A $937,500 Dwelling, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

Google Earth

In 1997—the year that Will and Jada got hitched—they purchased their first home together: a 8,000-square-foot abode in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania that cost $937,500, according to Variety. So, why did the couple first set roots in Pennsylvania? Well, just like he sings in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, Will Smith really was born and raised in West Philadelphia—specifically Wynnefield—just 15 minutes from this sprawling pad. Evidently, you can take the fresh prince out of West Philly, but not for long…!

A $700,000 Humble Abode, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Variety reports that in 1998—just a year after purchasing their Bryn Mawr home—Will and Jada spent $700,000 on a 2,165-square-foot property north of Philadelphia. Not much else is known about this house, but it’s likely that the Smiths purchased both of these Pennsylvania dwellings to be close to Will’s family.

A $3.4 Million Mansion, Hidden Hills, California

In 2003, Will and Jada dropped $3.4 million on a five-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion in Hidden Hills, California, according to LoveProperty.com. Ever since 2017, the couple’s son, Jaden, has called this place home—and he’s one of many celebs who lives in this star-studded city. Kylie Jenner, Drake, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Lopez are also residents of Hidden Hills.

A $2.5 Million Motor Home

View full post on Youtube

With a reported net worth of $350 million, Will Smith is one of the highest paid actors—so it only makes sense that he spends plenty of time on movie sets. Of course, this means he has to spend time away from his many homes, but fear not: He still has an impressive abode to live in while filming, thanks to his two-story motorhome that’s worth $2.5 million. Will lived in this RV while filming iconic films like The Pursuit of Happyness, Men in Black III, and Ali, according to Business Insider. This particular vehicle—which is nicknamed The Heat—boasts 1,200 square feet, 14 TV screens, a dressing room, a movie theater that seats up to 30 people, and a 360-degree security camera. And you, too, can live like Will Smith if this lifestyle suits your vibe (but it might set you back a few thousand dollars)—an RV like this costs an estimated $9,000 a week. Watch the above video for an inside look at this home on wheels!

A $42 Million Mansion, Calabasas, California

Google Earth

The most expansive (and expensive) property in Will and Jada Smith’s real estate portfolio is a 25,000-square-foot Calabasas mansion that sits on 150 acres, according to LoveProperty. com. This spectacular abode took seven years to build, from 2003 to 2010, and the final product boasts nine bedrooms, an eight-car garage, its own movie theater, and a private recording studio—which is where the couple’s daughter, Willow, recorded her 2010 hit song “Whip My Hair.” And if all of that wasn’t impressive enough, this home also has its very own zip code—and it graced the cover of Architectural Digest back in 2011. It’s unclear just how much the Smiths paid for this extensive dwelling, but it was briefly listed for $42 million in 2014, not long before being taken off the market.

A $13.5 Million Beach House, Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii

Back in 2009, Will and Jada Smith spent $13.5 million on a 2,200-square-foot abode in Hanalei, a small town on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, reports The Wall Street Journal. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom dwelling sits on seven acres—and the couple quickly (and impressively) flipped the property in 2011, selling it for $20 million.

A $910,000 Mediterranean-Style Abode, Woodland Hills, California

In August of 2010, the Smith family trust spent $910,000 on a 4,146-square-foot Mediterranean-style abode in Woodland Hills, California, according to Variety. This two-story property includes five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, three fireplaces, a pool and a spa. Although it’s not clear who lives in this dwelling, it surely sounds worthy of Hollywood royalty.

A $10 Million Compound, Kilauea, Kauai, Hawaii

View full post on Twitter

Just a few years after buying and selling their first Hawaiian residence, Mr. and Mrs. Smith returned to the scenic archipelago, spending a cool $10 million on four different beachfront properties in 2015—and they ended up selling it all for $12 million just two years later, reports Variety. Located on the island of Kauai, this sizeable compound consists of 6. 91 acres, and the four residential complexes boast seven bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms in total. The structures include a main house, guesthouse, carriage house, and a private studio, with amenities including a 50-foot swimming pool, spa, and tennis court (not to mention a private beach!).

From their Calabasas plush property that reportedly has its own zip code, to their two homes in Hidden Hills, power couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith own some of the most expensive mansions in LA.

The Smiths have also ventured outside the Sunshine State, with homes in Pennsylvania and Hawaii.

Not to mention their sixth (and most unique) abode — a two-story motorhome nicknamed ‘The Heat’ that is more like a mansion on wheels.

The Smiths main home in Calabasas

Will and Jada spend the majority of time in their Calabasas estate.

The luxurious ranch, nestled in the Santa Monica mountains near Calabasas has a man-made lake with views of Saddle Peak. The couple purchased the 150-acre lot in 2003, and the 25,000 square foot home was completed seven years later in 2010.

Was it worth the wait?

Fans of Jada’s Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk, regularly get a sneak peek inside the magnificent mansion worth an estimated $42 million.

According to Architectural Digest, the Hollywood couple customized their Calabasas compound alongside architect Stephen Samuelson.

The adobe-style home boasts handmade pieces curated by LA designer Judith Lance. “Everything [I added] had to look handcrafted but at the same time refined and sophisticated,” Lance said of the unique interior.

Including spiritual infinity-knot patterns and floors inlaid with river stones, the custom-built two-story home has “various interpretations of adobe in Persian, Moroccan, Spanish, as well as Southwest American cultures,” Samuelson shared.

The estate’s landscape architect Daniel Busbin designed the outdoor pool, man-made lake and gardens. Boasting an island with a gazebo, Will says he’s made some of his biggest decisions on this picturesque spot. “Answers come to me out there,” the father-of-three said.

Some of the massive mansion’s fabulous features include nine bedrooms, a home theatre, a meditation lounge, an eight-car garage, a tennis court and a basketball court.

With A-list neighbors such as Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, the luxurious digs also features a personal recording studio.

The couple’s 20-year-old daughter Willow recorded her hit song Whip My Hair in the state-of-the-art studio. Also, Willow and her pal Paris Jackson — the 23-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson — were seen jamming in the home studio on a recent episode of Red Table Talk.

The Smith family also has 2 homes in LA’s upscale Hidden Hills neighborhood

With a combined net worth of $400 million (reportedly Will, 53, is worth a whopping $350 million and Jada, 50, comes in at a cool $50 million), it’s no surprise that Mr. and Mrs. Smith have added to their LA real estate portfolio over the years.

In 2003, the same year they bought in Calabasas, the Smiths purchased a home in Hidden Hills. According to Love Property, Will and Jada spent $3.4 million on the 5 bedroom, 6 bathroom estate.

By 2017, the home became the permanent residence of the couple’s 23-year-old son, The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith.

According to Dirt, the Smiths loved the exclusive community so much, they recently purchased another mansion in Hidden Hills. The A-list couple spent $11.3 million on the 10,417-square-foot home which was completed in 2020.

The plush property boasts six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and nine half bathrooms.

With a modern open concept design, the mansion features several rooms for luxurious lounging, such as the soundproof media room, billiards room and wet bar that extends into the backyard.

Outside you’ll also find an infinity pool, covered patios with built-in heaters and a multifunctional sports court.

No word yet if this new Hidden Hills home will be passed down to Willow, or Will’s first child, 28-year-old son Trey, whom he shares with ex-wife Sheree Zampino.

Staying true to his roots, Will always wanted a beautiful home in Pennsylvania

In West Philadelphia he was born and raised, and on a playground is where he spent most of his days.

So when Will was financially able to do so, he bought a dream home in Bryn Mawr, Penn. as his first real estate investment. In 1998, the Fresh Prince star purchased the stunning 8,000 square foot property for just under $1 million.

Aloha! The Smith family and their two Hawaii homes

Being a blockbuster movie star definitely has its perks, and owning a dream beach house is par for the course. For years, the Smith family-of-five holidayed at their lux Hawaii home.

The tropical estate rests on the beachfront of Kawai’s North Shore. Reportedly, the oceanfront home features 7 bedrooms, 7 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms.

According to Love Property, Will and Jada bought the beachfront estate in 2009, and sold it to Russian socialite Ekaterina Rybolovleva in 2011 for $20 million (which was a $6.5 million profit for the Smiths). Mahalo, indeed!

Will and Jada returned to the Hawaii real estate market again in 2015. The power couple purchased a seven-acre estate in Kilauea, a small town on the northeastern shore of Kauai, Mansion Global reports.

Featuring three bedrooms in the main house, the oceanfront property also includes a two-bedroom guest house, a one-bedroom carriage house and a multi-purpose studio.

Formerly owned by NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the two-story beach house includes two wood burning fireplaces, high ceilings and doorways, an outdoor 5-foot swimming pool and spa, a tennis court, fruit trees and a private ocean-access trail to Secret Beach, one of the island’s most secluded beaches.

According to Love Property, the Smiths sold the oceanfront estate in 2017 for $12 million.

The Smiths most unique home is a mansion on wheels

When you’re an A-list movie star, not any little trailer will do. In fact, Will has a custom-built motorhome nicknamed ‘The Heat’ as his home-away-from-home when he’s filming.

Worth $2.5 million, Will lived in the luxurious two-story motorhome while filming some of his greatest movies, including, Ali, Pursuit of Happyness and Men in Black III.

According to Business Insider, the luxurious RV is 1,200 square feet and sits on 22 wheels. Some of the impressive features include 14 private TVs, $150k worth of granite in the bathrooms and kitchen, $30k worth of leather, a 30-person screening room and Star Trek-style doors opening up to the wardrobe room.

Will Smith’s house on wheels, nicknamed ‘The Heat’, is worth $2.5 million and comes with plenty of living space and luxurious features, including a 30-person screening room. Image credit: Youtube

The Smiths’ impressive real estate portfolio might induce a bad case of zip code envy. But here’s the good news: If you want to live like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, you can rent The Heat for a cool $9,000 per week.

from the Calabasas mansion to Hawaii retreats

Take the tour of Jada and Will Smith’s houses: from Hawaii boltholes to their $42m Calabasas home, The Smith’s impressive property portfolio needs to be seen.

..

Will Smith has undoubtedly had the Midas touch in his career, rolling from one Hollywood blockbuster to the next with hits like Aladdin making him one of the highest-paid actors in the world. But he also really has it sussed when it comes to real estate.

With a combined net worth of $320 million (£267m), we’d hardly expect Will and wife and fellow actor Jada Pinkett Smith to have a modest home, but their bulging property portfolio is impressive even for Tinseltown royalty.

L to R: Jaden, Willow, Will, Jada and TreyImage: Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images

Over the years, the pair have bought and sold an array of gorgeous homes, earning themselves quite a reputation in the industry.

Will and Jada’s property empire

Their luxury property journey began all the way back in 1998 when the pair snapped up a palatial 8,000-square-foot property in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, for $937,500 (£780k).

Will Smith’s house in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Image: Google Earth

Will and Jada’s collection grew in 2003 when a family trust overseen by the Smiths purchased a five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate in the exclusive Hidden Hills neighbourhood of Los Angeles for $3.4 million (£2.8m). Since 2017, the plush property has been home to the couple’s son Jaden.

A further dwelling in LA’s Woodland Hills was acquired by the trust back in 2011 for a relatively modest $910,000 (£757m), sparking rumours that the house was bought for family or staff.

Aloha! The couple buy in Hawaii

On sunnier shores, the couple’s real estate investment has included a couple of spectacular spots in Hawaii over the years too.

Their first property on the idyllic isle in 2009 was a lavish oceanfront home spread across seven acres. The deal made them a tidy profit, fetching $20 million (£16.7m) when it went up for sale in 2011; $6.5 million (£4. 5m) more than they paid for it.

The second house the Smiths bought on the paradise island of Hawaii.

Meanwhile, their second tropical retreat, purchased in 2015, included four residences, a tennis court, a 50-foot swimming pool and a private access trail to the beach. The couple later sold the compound in 2017 for $12 million (£10m).

But mansions aren’t the full extent of the actor’s property empire…

Will’s custom RV

Will Smith’s custom RV, known as ‘The Heat’, has a $25,000 bathroom. Image: HGTV

Will Smith reportedly commissioned a lavish motorhome worth $2.5 million (£2m) – a wise choice for a man who spends so much time on location. Nicknamed ‘The Heat’, he used the two-storey land yacht while filming Men in Black III, Ali and The Pursuit of Happiness

Inside Will’s luxury motorhome, complete with bespoke wood cabinetry and $30,000 worth of leather. Image: HGTV

The seriously slick RV sits on 22 wheels, 1,200 square feet of accommodation, 14 TV screens, a 30-person cinema, 360-degree video surveillance, a dressing room and $30,000 (£25k) worth of leather!

The Calabasas estate

However, the place that Will, Jada and the family call ‘home sweet home’ is in the glitzy LA county neighbourhood of Calabasas.

Their most extravagant investment to date, the sprawling $42-million (£35m) property offers a vast 25,000 square feet of living space, including nine bedrooms, a home theatre, an eight-car garage and an outdoor pool.

The sprawling Calabasas property is a sight to behold… Image: Google Earth

The Smiths snapped up the ranch and began construction on their luxury compound in 2003, but it took seven years to complete the project, which both Will and Jada were heavily involved in.

The custom-built home isn’t short on luxury leisure facilities, with on-site basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, plus a sunken trampoline. Despite the opulent amenities, Will told Architectural Digest that his favourite spot is the peaceful gazebo at the heart of the estate’s secluded lake.

Let’s take a look and see why the Fresh Prince really is the king of his own castle…

Will Smith’s house has its own ZIP code

That’s right – if you own this amount of land then it’s only natural that you should have your own ZIP code. Well, how else will people know you’re rich?

In total, the estate spans an enormous 150 acres, offering the ultimate private retreat from the limelight.

A real family home

Despite the fact that the couple’s kids Trey, 26, Jaden, 21 and Willow, 18, have all grown up and flown the nest, the property is still a welcoming home where the clan hang out together regularly.

The family often post cute snaps of their life at the house, like this festive photo.

Jada has her own meditation room

Being famous can take its toll (we assume), so having this gorgeous meditation room to unwind and reset in is surely a necessity. Just look at that plush thick-pile carpet!

The huge house has plenty of space devoted to the family’s interests. Image: Instagram/@jadapinkettsmith

The Smiths are a family of book lovers

Rather than a few sparse coffee table books, the Smith home is packed with actual bookcases – remember those?

This alcove has been beautifully fitted out with dark wooden shelves and an intricate cabinet to store just some of the family’s impressive collection.

There is plenty of reading material in these gorgeous wooden shelves. Image: Instagram/@WillSmith

Gorgeous decor

These guys know what they like and are happy to go all in. Unlike so many of the cookie-cutter mansions in the area who all use the same interior designers, this is a home that stands out thanks to its unusual, characterful aesthetic.

Inspired by natural adobe architecture, the unique home is awash with rustic features and intricate craftsmanship. We love the exposed beams, canopy beds, huge wooden doors and carved animal sculptures. Check out that gorgeous chandelier…

Jada’s selfie reveals a glimpse of the earthy decor in their LA mansion. Image: Instagram/@jadapinkettsmith

Given that it was seven years in the making, the considerable estate required blood, sweat and tears to bring it to life. With the help of designer Stephen Samuelson and architect Harry Perez-Daple, Will and Jada were finally happy with their finished family home in 2010.

In an interview with Architectural Digest, Will explained the attention to detail that went into the property: “Everything needed to be done by hand. We wanted to feel the love and labour that went into every piece of this place.”

To create a completely original home, the Smiths have brought in artefacts from around the world – the front door was once the entrance to a fort in northern India.

This amazing front door is an artefact from India. Image: Instagram/@jadapinkettsmith

Elsewhere, there’s antique carved panelling, plus custom-made bronze fixtures.

Private music studio

Remember when Willow Smith released that catchy hit in 2010, ‘Whip My Hair’? Well that was actually recorded in her own home. A state-of-the-art music studio in a residential property is a bit of a novelty, even in these star-studded parts.

Willow Smith got her music career off to an early start by recording at home. Image: JStone/Shutterstock

A proper family home

Far from being a spotless all-white showhome, the gorgeous kitchen has real heart, with a sociable open-plan layout and family-friendly features such as a pizza oven. Sweet home videos have been filmed here, such as Jada teaching her daughter Willow to ice a cake.

The characterful room has a large island unit, wooden flooring and plenty of built-in oak cabinets, paired with a warming yellow colour scheme that complements the rest of the house.

Just like the rest of the house, the kitchen is warm and uses earthy tones. Image: Instagram/@jadapinkettsmith

All out at Christmas

With a fake snow machine outside the entrance, a huge tree in the hall, plus garlands and fairy lights adorning the main staircase, it’s clear the Smiths take the holidays pretty seriously!

The Smith’s hired a snow machine at Christmas. Image: Instagram/@jadapinkettsmith

Homeworking

The house is also the set for the family’s very own series called ‘Red Table Talk’, streamed on Facebook Watch.

Members of the Smith family, together with Jada’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, candidly discuss issues from family life to mental health and current affairs around a (red) table in the Calabasas home. Various guest stars and friends of the family also make appearances on the popular show.

Their vodcast Red Table Talk is hosted in their house. Image: Instagram/@jadapinkettsmith

So there you have it: The Smiths have created the ultimate family home with all members catered for. If we ever doubted Will Smith was indeed The Fresh Prince of LA, we certainly don’t now.

All Of Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith’s Lavish Homes Over The Years

Tinseltown/Shutterstock

By Melissa Maynard/Jan. 7, 2022 12:20 pm EDT

Actor Will Smith has had a pretty incredible career, starring in blockbuster movies such as “Men in Black,” “Aladdin,” “I, Robot,” and “Independence Day,” among a slew of others. His wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, has also had her fair share of hits, including “The Matrix” movies, “The Nutty Professor,” and “Scream 2.”

According to Us Weekly, Will and Jada married in 1997 and started creating a real estate profile from the get-go. As per Celebrity Net Worth, the couple has a total net worth of around $400 million combined, which has allowed them to buy some stellar properties across the country. It turns out the couple owns superb mansions worth millions in Pennsylvania, California, and Hawaii — oh, and an RV on wheels worth $2.5 million (via Architectural Digest). Read on and take a look at all of the homes that Will and Jada have purchased during their decades together.

The Smiths purchased a mansion in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in 1997 for $937,000

Google Earth

Will Smith was born and raised in West Philadelphia, so it’s no surprise that this area would be a top pick for him to invest in real estate and be close to family. Per Us Weekly, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith started their romance after Jada auditioned to be Will’s girlfriend for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” While she didn’t ultimately get the role (that went to Nia Long), Jada did end up stealing Will’s heart. After tying the knot, the mansion in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania was the couple’s first property.

According to Variety, the successful duo paid just under a million at $937,000 for the 8,000-square-foot home, which has plenty to do on the expansive grounds, including a swimming pool and tennis court. A year later, in 1998, the couple bought another home — a smaller, modest home at just 2,165 square feet (well, smaller compared to their 8,000 square foot home!) for $700,000 a few miles north of Philadelphia. The first property is only 30 minutes from West Philadelphia and kick-started the couple’s massive real estate holdings that span two decades.

In the same year, rumors began to appear about the Smiths’ divorce, but the couple denied them. Jada’s reps later commented that her romance with Marc Anthony had nothing to do with reality. So, Jada, in a conversation on the Howard Stern show, questioned the existence of monogamy. She noted that she does not believe that a man will not be attracted to other women, even if he is “busy.” After that, a new wave of rumors about a divorce went on the Internet. 2017-2020: August Alsina and permission to cheat

They appeared together at events and threw signs of attention on social networks. The Smiths were suspected of swinging, but Jada on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live called this information wild. Three years later, no one remembered the provocation about the relationship between Smith’s wife and the musician, but August made a statement. He said that since 2017 he really had a relationship with Jada, and received a “blessing” from her husband. An information bomb exploded on the Internet, but in less than a day, representatives of the Smiths denied this information.

When the rumors subsided, the couple confessed that such an episode had indeed taken place in their marriage. Jada was candid on Red Table Talk about how her relationship with Will was confusing, and she fell into the same trap with August. The only thing that the actress denied was obtaining permission for treason. She noted that in this situation, only she could make a decision.
