What kind of travertine tiles are there
There is no quality classification of travertine. There is a division according to colors (white, gray, reddish …) and the number of pores. You should know that “wild” travertine is almost impossible to find on sale. Excellent appearance is provided due to machine processing. Depending on the processing method used, travertine tiles are divided into the following types:
- polished – has perfect smoothness, but does not have a mirror reflection;
- polished – very smooth and reflective;
- polished – has a slight surface roughness;
- brushed – such a travertine tile in the interior is used to create an “old” effect, aging the material with special brushes;
- sawn – has deep relief irregularities.
Some of the types are more often suitable for facade decoration, others look great inside the building.
How to use travertine in the interior
The choice of a specific material option depends on the idea of the home owner or designer. Here are just a few possible options for using travertine stone in the interior:
- Decoration of the main entrance. The foyer will become majestic if you lay travertine on the floor, regardless of the general style of the house.
