- Otherwise, If it’s over 60 ohms, cut off a few inches from the solenoid wire and rerun the test. If it’s still over 60 ohms, you have to replace the solenoid.
3. Check the Voltage of the Transformer
Before putting your multimeter aside, you can use it to test the transformer:
- Set your multimeter to voltage mode.
- Identify the transformer terminals on the controller – they are marked with 24-vac.
- Connect the multimeter to the transformer terminals and check the voltage – it should be above 24.
If the reading is less than 24, it’s necessary to replace the transformer.
4. Fix a Blown Fuse
If the controller isn’t working, it may be because the fuse has blown. To fix this, simply replace the fuse with a new one of the same size and rating.

If at least one of the points is found, the thermal lock must be changed to a new one, after draining the liquid. After that, the system is restarted.
Service maintenance of sprinkler fire extinguishing systems
Maintenance (MS) of sprinkler fire extinguishing is about 20 manipulations, from test activities and external inspections of units to pipeline cleaning and complex testing of the entire complex.
An employee of the company with the appropriate license from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to perform work on the installation, design and maintenance of fire sprinklers every week:
- Takes pressure readings from pressure gauges.
- Records the water level in tanks.
- Checks the position of the shut-off valve.
- Tests the alarm, starts the pump and diesel engine.
- Verifies that the heating is working properly to prevent freezing of water in the pipeline.
Once a month check the level and density of the electrolyte in the batteries, if necessary, replace the faulty devices with new ones.
