See Inside Meghan Markle’s Former Toronto Home

Who lives in a house like this? Errr, Meghan Markle.

Before Meghan Markle met Prince Harryand later moved into their Kensington Palace home, the actress lived in a relatively modest three-bedroom house in a suburb of Toronto.

When she moved permanently to London to be closer to Harry, Meghan’s former home went up for sale, meaning we got a closer look at real estate she put up for sale.

Situated on Yarmouth Road in the neighborhood of Seaton Village, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home was lived in for a number of years by Meghan when she lived in the Canadian city while filming Suits. Owned by Canadian fashion stylist Elizabeth Cabral, the studio rented the home on behalf of the LA native.

Sharing the home with her two dogs, on her former Instagram account you could see photos of how she styled her former abode.

The home is also where Harry used to stay when visiting Meghan at the beginning of their relationship. It has been reported that the royal would make secret visits to Meghan’s Toronto home up to twice a month when she had filming commitments in the city.

New book, Finding Freedom, says the couple were in Toronto when they heard the press had discovered they were dating.

The book, by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, says: ‘One night late in October in Toronto, Harry was happy, and so was Meghan. Until they received a call from one of Harry’s aides at Kensington Palace. It wasn’t good news.

‘A tabloid was going to run with the story of their relationship. Their main worry was that her place would be besieged by photographers within 24 hours.

‘They had little time to think, because there were only a couple of paparrazi in Toronto but it wouldn’t be long before photographers flew in from New York and LA, all hoping to get that first picture of the happy couple.’

The book says Meghan got more than 100 messages looking for gossip as the news started to break, from friends and acquaintances.

If you fancy dropping everything to relocate to Toronto and live Meghan’s former life you better start saving. The property was on the market for $1,395,000 which works out at around £850,000 when it was listed.

However, you do get a fair bit of bang for buck. The tastefully decorated open-plan house, which is described by the estate agents as ‘luxe’, boasts a cinema room, a high-spec kitchen-diner and a garden.

Meghan Markle’s chic Toronto home Prince Harry claims she ‘adored’

Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry reside in Montecito with their children Archie and Lilibet. In the Duke of Sussex’s tell-all book Spare, Harry referenced visiting the actress’ Toronto property for the first time.

“Meg was excited to show me her life, her dogs, her little house, which she adored,” the royal wrote. Meghan’s Canadian bolthole is where she lived while filming Suits and writing for her former blog, The Tig.

Much like the rest of her home, Meghan’s bedroom was decorated in white, with classic all white bedding and a large birdcage style mirror on the wall. Sharing this Instagram photo of herself sitting on her bed in pyjamas in June 2016, Meghan wrote: “Night night #bedtime #birdcage.”

Meghan’s double bed appeared to attract her pet dogs Guy and Bogart from time-to-time, however the Suits star has admitted she would only let them on her white sheets on “laundry day”. Posting this photo of her dog Guy in January 2016, she wrote: “Laundry day. He’s allowed. #adoptdontshop #snowday #laymedowninsheetsoflinen.”

In Meghan’s room there is a wooden dresser which she has topped with a vase of flowers, Dipytique candles and two more fashion tomes; In Vogue: The Illustrated History of the World’s Most Famous Fashion Magazine, and The Dress. “Always buy yourself flowers. Especially peonies,” she told fans in the caption of this snap.

All of Meghan’s cabinets and shelving units were perfectly styled, each with vases of flowers, candles and books, in this case – the memoirs of Vogue US Creative Director Grace Coddington. The 35-year-old was praised for her style after sharing this photo, with fans commenting: “love your style”, and “love the peonies!”

Talk about wardrobe envy! Meghan had an entire shelving unit dedicated to displaying her impressive footwear collection, which includes heels from Christian Louboutin and Miu Miu plus her go-to designer Sarah Flint. Although the stylish actress has previously said she likes “monochromatic and tonal dressing”, it appears she adds a pop of colour with her footwear collection which includes bold red, fuchsia and leopard print designs.

The guestroom was also decorated in neutral tones, with white bedding and a cosy throw. A figure study watercolour painting by New York based artist and illustrator Inslee Fariss – estimated to cost £520 – hangs above the bed in this room. Meghan is clearly a fan of this artwork, she captioned the photo: “Welcome home beauty.”

Meghan is clearly an avid reader and had stacks of books on the floor in this room. Each pile is colour co-ordinated and topped with a small plant, while black-and-white portraits hang above on the wall in classic white photo frames.

Even more colour co-ordinated books line the shelves next to the bed in this guest room, where Meghan’s pet dog Guy appears very comfortable! “Oh, hello little Guy… Starting a library, are we?” Meghan captioned this snap, adding: “#homesweethome #guestroom #guysroom #iching #adoptdontshop. ” Her organisational skills appear to have impressed fans, with one writing: “Colour coded books!”

Meghan’s house had a small back garden which had also been decorated with monochrome furniture; this time a black and white stripe cushioned metal love seat where the actress – or her dogs – could pend time outdoors relaxing or rehearsing her lines while filming her role in the hit US TV show Suits.

The garden also had a central wooden decking area complete with a seating area and BBQ; the ideal area for Meghan to entertain boyfriend Harry or guests, and play outdoors with her pet dogs. “Time to play in the snow before heading to set,” Meghan captioned this photo from her garden in April 2016.

“Well hello to you too, Bogart. What a greeting. #homesweethome,” Meghan captioned this photo, which showed her pet pooch greeting her in the hallway of her home. The entrance leads straight into Meghan’s living and dining room, which had wooden flooring throughout and a red striped rug in front of a white-painted staircase.

The living room has a cosy feeling, with a cream corner sofa offering the perfect bed for Meghan’s dogs, and helping to separate the living area from the dining area. Meghan added throws and cushions to the sofa, while bunches of flowers and plants are scattered around the room to add some colour to the neutral décor. The Duchess keeps up her passion for interiors to this day, and her US home is always impeccably styled.

The actress decorated the living room with comfy cushions, a grey striped throw and this snuggly looking faux fur foot stool, with a number of different prints and pieces of art on the walls.

Behind the sofa there is a small table lined with photos in monochrome chevron-patterned frames. The former Suits star is a huge fan of flowers and her dining table was never without a bunch of beautiful blooms in a vase – typically peonies, or sometimes flowers that she picked from her own garden.

Meghan used this distressed vintage chest as a coffee table, which she adorned with vases filled with fresh flowers, candles and coffee table books – often about fashion or food. Alongside this photo of Noam Chomsky’s book Who Rules the World? posted in July 2016, Meghan simply told fans: “Great read. Highly recommend.”

Another book that featured in a couple of Meghan’s Instagram photos is The Kinfolk Table: Recipes for Small Gatherings, which includes everything from simple breakfast ideas for two to one-pot dinners.

FAMILY: Charles Spencer’s relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan revealed

Meghan bought a classic white marble dining table, yet again adorned with a vase of peonies and two books; one about former Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld, and the other about Linda McCartney. Continuing the monochrome décor, a number of white dining chairs are placed around the table, each with a soft throw draped over the back.

LIFESTYLE

The Duke and Duchess are known for their free spirits: they renounced the title for the heir and left the grounds of Kensington Palace. We tell you where the newlyweds plan to move

Harry and Megan dream of living the lifestyle of ordinary citizens: they decided to move out of Kensington Palace to the Frogmore House cottage in Windsor. Now the house is being renovated, which they plan to finish by the birth of their first child.

9 things that will appear in the house after the renovation

Fashion design

Interestingly, the designer of the future interior of the house of the royal couple is Megan’s friend, Victoria Beckham. The owner of a fashion house is well versed in fashion design, but this is her first time doing interior design. Of course, the project is developed by professional architects. But it is Victoria who gives advice on decorating residential premises.

Eco friendly environment

For Megan, all components of a conscious lifestyle are important: she adheres to the philosophy of feng shui, practices yoga, takes care of the environment and wants everything in the house to comply with these principles.

Children’s (and not alone)

The bedroom of the future heir will be decorated in gender-neutral colors. And it’s not that the sex of the baby of the royal couple is hidden to the last. Just in accordance with the latest fashion trends, it is generally accepted that boys do not have to grow up in blue, and girls need to grow up in pink. Therefore, furniture, toys, and decor items in children’s playrooms and bedrooms are selected in neutral shades.

Mother-in-law

Future parents do not plan to use a nanny. Megan’s mother, who will live with the royal couple, will help with the newborn. For her comfortable living, a whole wing is being equipped in the house.

Ten bedrooms

Now the cottage is divided into five separate apartments – in the process of renovation they will be combined into one space. In addition to children’s rooms, bedrooms, wings for mom and living rooms for themselves, the couple wants to equip rooms for meditation in the house.

Spa and yoga studio

Meditation and yoga spaces will occupy a significant part of the area. In addition to them, the project provides for a full-fledged SPA center: Megan loves to relax not only with her soul, but also with her body.

Lots of stairs and fireplaces

These pieces of palace decoration were in the cottage even before the renovation. However, it seemed to the duchess that the stairs were not enough: they would be erected taking into account the wishes of the owners. There will also be more fireplaces.

Soundproofing system

London Heathrow Airport is located 10 km from Frogmore House. So that the noise from the planes does not disturb the peace of the owners of the estate, it was decided to order soundproofing for £50,000.

Things from the old house

Megan misses her apartment in Toronto and wants to move some things into a new home. It is already known that posters that hung in that house are used for wall decor. Harry and Meghan also want to be seen at all times photos of family and friends.

Where Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle lived before marriage: what the apartments of the duchesses looked like

Today, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle live in luxury. But has it always been like this? We offer you to look into the past and see how the apartments of the duchesses looked like before marriage.

Probably each of us at least once in our lives dreamed of living in a palace. That is why we follow with special rapture the lives of members of the royal family: Kate Middleton and Prince William, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Today, the Dukes of Cambridge live in the luxurious apartment A1 of Kensington Palace. The magnificent 20-room apartment overlooking Hyde Park is decorated in gold tones (what else?), but, for example, the children’s bedrooms are furnished with standard IKEA furniture.

The Sussexes settled in an equally luxurious mansion in California worth $14.5 million. Megan and Harry’s American mansions include 16 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a game room, a gym, a library and a private tea ceremony room.

However, we wondered how the duchesses lived before they met their princes. The answer is already in our material.

THIS IS INTERESTING

Meghan Markle and other stars who hide their real names

In Suits, Meghan Markle’s character is called Rachel Zane. Interestingly, the future wife of Prince Harry did not have to get used to the new name, because her first name sounds exactly the same. Yes, yes, at birth, the girl was named Rachel Meghan Markle, and with age, she preferred the second name.

1 of 5 boobies: the duchess grew up in a wealthy family and never needed anything. At the beginning of the 2000s, Katherine and her sister Pippa decided that they could do with a little independence, and moved out from their parents to a separate apartment, which was located in the prestigious Chelsea district of London.

The apartment is spread over three floors and includes three bedrooms. The interior is decorated in neutral colors, the furniture is in classic English style, and pillows, carpets and other decor items are responsible for bright accents.

In front of you is the sisters’ cozy dining room. The room has a lot of details, but at the same time it does not seem overloaded.

The sisters’ bedrooms are decorated in soothing neutrals with fairly simple furnishings.

The living room is different from all other rooms – it has oriental motifs, there are many bright accents.

And this is what the kitchen looks like — quite simple (some would even say boring), but cozy and everything is at hand.

The apartment has two bathrooms, and both are tiled without any frills, patterns and other “liberties”.

In 2018, when Kate was already living in the palace and Pippa moved into the townhouse with her new husband, the apartment was put up for sale for nearly £2 million.

Kate is good, Megan is always bad: reaction on the web to similar actions of duchesses

Meghan Markle

Before becoming Prince Harry’s wife, the Suits star lived in a cozy house in a quiet neighborhood in western Toronto. Then the actress actively led social networks and her own website, thanks to which we can look at her “visit”. Today, these pages no longer exist, but the Internet remembers everything.

Megan moved into a rented two-story cottage in 2011 – after her divorce from her first husband – and lived there for about six years. Looking ahead, we note that in 2017, enterprising owners sold the house in which Markle lived for a fabulous $ 1.4 million, which is 500 thousand more than its real value.

Cottage includes a large kitchen, living room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, basement, backyard with dog yard and barbecue, and a two car garage.

From the hallway we immediately get into the living room, which is also the dining room. The interior is made in bright colors. A gold-framed mirror serves as a bright accent, and a cream-colored sofa zones the space.

Check out these funny and contrasting pictures. Additional coziness to the room is given by a super-soft carpet and fur pads on the chairs.

This is what one of the bathrooms looked like. Pretty modest.

Note that Megan’s bedroom is rather boring. A gray bed standing next to a large mirror, white curtains, a bedside table with a lamp – that, in general, is all.

And here, for example, what the interior of one of the guest bedrooms looked like.
