It took nearly two years of house-hunting and at least five aborted escrows, but Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finally found true real estate love. And according to TMZ, which first reported this whopper of a deal, that love don’t cost a thing over $61 million, the amount the newlyweds paid — in cash, no less — for their gargantuan compound high up in the mountains above Beverly Hills, lording atop the Benedict Canyon neighborhood.
Still, you could call that number a blue-plate special. On and off the market for five years, the 5.2-acre property was last listed at $75 million, and had originally been offered at an incredible $135 million, when it was featured in Robb Report.
Built circa 2000 by a local developer, the mansard-roofed and vaguely neo-Palladian main house has an interesting ownership history. In 2002, it was sold for $11 million to Alex Yemenidjian, the former CEO of MGM Studios. Two years later, Yemenidjian flipped the giant house for $14 million to Curtis Somoza, a now-convicted Ponzi schemer currently serving a 25-year prison sentence. In 2007, the property sold again, this time for $16.8 million, to a Korean woman who made her fortune through owning nursing homes.
Over the next decade, the house waffled in and out of foreclosure and was routinely rented out for parties and to short-term tenants. In 2015, it was briefly occupied by a Saudi prince who was arrested over alleged sexual assaults he performed at the property.
In 2016, the place sold for $22 million to high-end house developer Gala Asher, who subsequently spent untold millions more giving the outdated mansion a crisply contemporary renovation. He also built a separate 5,000-square-foot sports complex complete with an indoor pickleball court, lounge area, gym and boxing ring, plus a two-bedroom guard house.
Other amenities include a 10-car garage and additional off-street parking for up to 80 more cars, a covered entertainment pavilion with a full outdoor kitchen, a 155-foot infinity pool, grassy lawns for play and no fewer than 24 bathrooms scattered around the premises.
The property is located within a discreet gated community and further secured by its own huge driveway gates, so this compound is a true fortress.
A prolific Southern California developer, Asher is best known for building glitzy spec-mansions that have been purchased by celebrities and tycoons alike. Three years ago, he sold a spec-built Holmby Hills manor for $36 million to Kylie Jenner, and he also built Kris Jenner’s much-photographed house in La Quinta. In 2017, Asher sold billionaire Tom Gores a $100 million estate in Holmby Hills; earlier this year, he offloaded a $21 million La Quinta creation to Vivint founder Todd Pedersen. And in early 2015, he sold a particularly slick house across the street from the Beverly Hills hotel for $35 million to billionaire hedge fund mogul Steven Cohen.
Lopez, Affleck and their blended family are already set to move into their new home — Affleck sold his $28 million Pacific Palisades bachelor pad last year, and Lopez recently put her $42 million Bel Air estate up for sale.

The house boasts a cinema, wine room, whiskey lounge and a spa with a hair and nail salon, and a sauna and massage room. And get this, there’s also a separate, 5,000-square-foot sports facility, which includes an indoor pickleball court, boxing ring and sports lounge. On top of that, there’s a 2-bedroom guard house.
In all, there are 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms and 15 fireplaces!
Ben and Jen paid $60,850,000 … and they paid in cash. The whole deal took 1 week, start to finish.
It sounds like a lot of loot, but it turns out they got an incredible deal. The property was listed in 2018 for $135,000,000 and relisted this year for $75M.
It sits on a 5-acre promontory and the security is unmatched … the estate is double-gated.
It’s considered the crown jewel of Wallingford, and that’s saying something.
The newlyweds have had several false starts, going into escrow on a few other estates but pulling the plug before closing.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck bought a massive $60 million Beverly Hills mansion after nearly two years of searching for their perfect family home.

The couple’s new 4,300 square meter home includes 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms and a full basketball court.
According to TMZ, the property was listed for sale in 2018 for $135 million, and earlier this year the value of the home dropped to $75 million. However, the couple managed to bring down the price to $60 million.

The newly built mansion is located on a plot of two hectares and has a magnificent view of the mountains. “Exquisitely designed and built with impeccable taste, the stylish complex combines state-of-the-art technology with exquisite rooms,” the project says.
Jennifer and Ben’s new mansion has a hairdresser, nail salon, home cinema, wine cellar, massage rooms, sauna. And on the site there is an indoor sports complex, a guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house and a swimming pool with a beautiful view.

53-year-old American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez and 50-year-old American actor Ben Affleck have finally found a place to call home after almost two years of searching that began even before they got married in July.
Photos of the star couple’s stunning new $64 million mansion at Pacific Palisades show the stunning property in all its glory.
The new house is almost double the price of the first property they planned to purchase, but has more amenities, including eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
The home is located on 1.13 acres and includes a gym, professional media room, games room, elevator and a huge backyard with a pool and fire pit.

The house is located in an exclusive area north of Santa Monica and downtown Los Angeles. Lopez and Affleck were first seen touring the house in February, and insiders told TMZ they frequented the house.
With eight bedrooms and nearly a dozen bathrooms, the home is perfect for their large blended family.
Jennifer Lopez has two children – Emmy and Max – from her ex-husband, musician Marc Anthony. Ben Affleck has three children with his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner – Seraphim, Violet and Samuel.
Each child will have more than enough space to settle into their new home.
A special attraction of the house is a spacious library. The house is also located on a hill and overlooks the canyon, which allows natural light to enter all rooms during the day.
