1,800 houses in various segments. Due to the desire to make Oostenburg free of cars, the central multi-storey car park located between the houses was built using Accoya planks.
By increasing the amount of parking at the entrance to the area, this allows for the creation of a car-free island, as desired, with room for a vibrant public space.
Natural Accoya planks combined with durable concrete blend well with Oostenburg’s rugged and industrial character. The Accoya wood frame around the glass creates a beautiful connection to the concrete in an abstract frame.
The seven-story building has a sedum roof for sustainable water storage. In addition, 719 are installed on the roofphotovoltaic panels. Thanks to this, a multi-storey car park generates enough energy to be completely energy neutral. The rest of the energy is used by Rui taxi charging stations. The building is the “greenest” car park in Amsterdam.
MIX architectuur designed the Oostenburgereiland car park for Ten Brinke Bouw. Parking operators are Holland Immo Group and Q-Park. MIX architectuur and Ten Brinke Bouw are also working together in Amsterdam on the Lot 8 project. This plan includes 64 apartments next to the car park in Oostenburg, 26 of which are designed by MIX architecture.
Brilliance
for future generations
Your exterior wood cladding needs to withstand any storm and be stylish. We know that aesthetics, low maintenance and durability are critical. What you may not know is that Accoya outperforms even the most durable tropical hardwood cladding.

Wooden facades – order wooden facades / wooden facade
How to change the exterior of a house that is already fed up, or to make exterior finishing work in a new house to be original? Of course, making facades with wood (shingles) is a very simple and affordable way. And there are very good reasons for such a statement:
– firstly, the wood is treated with special impregnations and it is not afraid of the effects of the external environment: humidity, sunlight, fire:
– secondly, shingle walls are an environmentally friendly material that is beyond doubt compared to other artificial finishing materials;
– thirdly, wooden shingle facades are universal, because they are laid on any solid surface: brick, cinder block, timber, plastered, reinforced concrete, or a prepared frame with a crate;
– fourthly, the installation of wooden shingle facades can be carried out all year round, regardless of weather conditions;
In addition, wooden facades are finished with antiseptic compounds and azures, which have a wide range of colors, which provides great opportunities for exterior design solutions for wooden walls. The fire resistance of wooden facades is achieved by additional processing of wood with flame retardants – fire-resistant protective systems. Facade types of materials can be different – shingles, timber imitation, block house, lining. But the originality and uniqueness of your home will give a wooden tile – chipped shingle.
For wooden shingled facades, as a rule, coniferous wood is used: pine, smereka (European spruce), common spruce, Ukrainian larch (modrina), Siberian larch, rarely from aspen, alder. Split shingle – mainly made from larch, aspen, smereka. Our company uses only split shingles (not cut), mainly from Siberian larch (rarely from Smereka – European spruce). Larch chipped shingle has a very high durability, wear resistance and strength.
Chipped Siberian larch shingle is the most powerful achievement of wooden architecture. Value for money – Environmental friendliness – Quality – Service life per 1 m 2 of shingle finish exceeds ANY modern facade finishing technologies.
