Celebrity Style

A bedroom is an extremely intimate reflection of a person’s tastes, wants, and needs—and celebrity bedrooms are no exception

We look to celebrities for a lot: entertainment, distraction on social media, outfit ideas. But what can celebrity bedrooms reveal to us? A bedroom is an intimate space that reflects the things that most ground us, the atmosphere that we crave when we’re apart from everything else. Below, we’ve selected a few particularly dazzling celebrity bedrooms that have been featured on AD—which is your favorite?

The guest room is painted in Benjamin Moore’s River Blue. The furniture is from West Elm.

At Serena Williams’s Florida home, which she designed in collaboration with her sister Venus, a guest room offers visitors a retreat into a world of deep blue that mirrors the property’s vast pool.

An inky linen blue duvet echoes the Akari lamp and accents the plaster and cork-covered guest room.

Photo: Anson Smart; Styling: Joseph Gardner

Troye Sivan’s Flack Studio–designed Melbourne abode is flush with Isamu Noguchi’s Akari lamps and this guest room is no exception. Cork ceilings, carpet, and earthy tones all work together to create an ultra cozy space that’s calm without being devoid of personality.

A green-lacquered longhorn skull mounted over a black, chesterfield bed adds a western look to Dobrev’s primary bedroom, which, like her guest bedroom, includes an antique-style quilt and pillows from Nickey Kehoe. The artwork on the right-hand wall is The Embrace by Rebeca Cygnus.

Photo: Ye Rin Mok; Styling: Sam Spenser

Nina Dobrev’s Charlie Barstein Interiors–designed Hollywood home is a refined bohemian-leaning wonderland and the primary bedroom is its crown jewel—or crown flower, perhaps. The space is simple enough without feeling quiet or detached from the property’s outdoor space.

All the rooms in the home benefit from abundant sunlight, as seen in this bedroom.

Jason Statham’s midcentury-modern home is all about the architecture of the building: The furnishings and decor are mostly lowkey so as not to pull focus. Interior designer Courtney Applebaum custom designed the bed and bedside table for this bedroom.

In the primary bedroom, a Mags low sofa by Danish design firm Hay can be seen.

NBA star D’Angelo Russell is devoted to black-and-white, and while the rest of the Tiffany Thompson–designed home features rich textures like leather and lacquer, it was back to basics for the primary bedroom. We can only picture how cozy a night spent watching TV from this Hay couch would be!

The primary bedroom rug is by Carol Piper. The bed was custom made by Mulligan’s in Los Angeles using Ralph Lauren fabric on the headboard; it is dressed in bedding by Once Milano. A vintage green linen Brenda Antin chaise helps make for a sitting area, which is accented by hand-stitched crewel curtains sourced from Chelsea Editions. The Atelier MVM Moss Berry Shroom Lamp seen nearby is from Nickey Kehoe.

The Padelecki family includes Jared, his wife Genevieve, three kids, plus numerous dogs, chickens, and mini horses, so we’d imagine most of their time isn’t spent hanging out in bed. Appropriately for the modern farmhouse, wood furnishings and a view of the outdoor space were prioritized.

In the primary bedroom, an RH bed is grouped with Ralph Lauren Home side tables and a vintage Italian bench from Billy Cotton; the walls are clad in a Clarence House fabric, the curtains are of a Duralee floral, and an antique Moroccan rug is laid atop carpeting by Holland & Sherry.

Ashe + Leandro designed Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber’s former New York home from top to bottom, and for the primary bedroom they struck a balance between moody dark blues and whimsical accents, like those floral curtains and bright red vintage bench.

The primary bedroom is illuminated by a Fortuny light fixture by Venetia Studium, an industrial floor lamp, and swing-arm sconces.

Its easy to glean Julianna Margulies’s worldliness from the primary bedroom in her Vicente Wolf–designed New York City home. The mix of textures, abundant storage, and Eero Saarinen Womb Chair–adjacent street view all combine for a space that is utility-driven but no less stylish for it.

The primary bedroom features a custom bed by Newell Design Studio dressed in Matouk linens, Stephen Antonson hanging light, Gracie wall covering, and La Manufacture Cogolin rug.

For a person as busy and productive as Shonda Rhimes, a bedroom that’s not at all overwhelming but still feels grand is of the utmost importance. The La Manufcature Cogolin rug pattern commands the bedroom in her New York City apartment designed by Stephen A. Smith, allowing a space that’s pleasing to the eye but plenty relaxing when it’s time to lounge in bed.

The primary bedroom (which is painted in Farrow & Ball’s London Stone) is designed to be calming. The furnishings include a custom mohair-covered bed and a rug from Lawrence of La Brea.

As a new mom, it was of the utmost importance for Shay Mitchell’s bedroom to not only provide her with a truly restful space for herself, but a space for her baby to be close at hand too. We love the rich tone of brown she and designer Chad Wood chose for her mohair-covered bed (and it ties in perfectly with the wood accent of that bassinet).

The primary bedroom is anchored by a Hästens bed with a custom-made headboard; the sculpture on the windowsill is by Dal Fabbro from Maison Gerard.

Photo: William Waldron

Will Ferrell might be known for his goofiness, but the bedroom in his Shawn Henderson–designed New York apartment that AD toured showcases the more serious side of him that is just as instrumental to his success.

In the primary bedroom, dog Dolly lounges on the platform’s pashmina shag carpet. The custom walnut bed with suede headboard is by Shadley.

Wall-to-wall carpet skeptics, look away! Jennifer Aniston’s Stephen Shadley–designed LA home features not only wall-to-wall carpeting, but a carpeted platform below a wood bedframe too.

A custom asymmetrical bed upholstered in white Belgian linen anchors the primary bedroom.

Photo: Frank Frances

The primary bedroom at Hugh Jackman’s Hamptons home, with its stark white bed, walls, cabinet, and curtains, is something of a cold plunge. Jackman’s wife Deborra-lee Furness designed the home with architect Viola Rouhani and interior designer Eleanor Donnelly, both of Stelle Lomont Rouhani Architects, after visiting the home they worked on for Calvin Klein.

Miley found her stainless-steel-and-brass 1980s bed on one of her many scouring expeditions on 1stDibs.

It should come as no surprise that this dramatically glitzy bedroom belongs to a pop star. Miley Cyrus wanted to go moody with the space, as she told her mom Tish Cyrus and her design partner Mat Sanders.

Chamber of Secrets: the best bedrooms in the homes of stars

Burlesque queen Dita von Teese loves romance and shocking both at home and on stage. Colorful walls, exotic scarecrows, glittering chandeliers, pin-up posters and Art Deco furniture, her Los Angeles apartment is filled with the same genuine passion for vintage glamour, as her shows, reminiscent of the dazzling performances of Josephine Baker and Gypsy Rose Lee . “I believe that burlesque is a real manifestation of art. He has a place on stage and in life,” says von Teese. In her show “The Opium Den”, with which Dita performed at the famous “Casino de Paris” in Paris, she used exquisite scenery in the form of a pagoda, Chinese lanterns and oriental-style linen. As if to confirm her words, the same “Chinese” is found in every room.

The apartment of Margherita Missoni, heiress of the Missoni empire, has many details, she is not a fan of minimalism. Even the toy collection she built as a teenager when she lived in New York has taken its rightful place in this cheerful space designed with the participation of the whole family. After the renovation of the interior, as Margherita herself admits, the apartment quickly filled with history. And it’s great – in such a family there is always something to remember!

The Hollywood residence of the queen of pop Christina Aguilera fully reflects the tastes and passions of her mistress. In the bedroom, where the four-poster bed is located on a stepped elevation, creating the illusion of a theatrical stage, cheerful bravura notes of Hollywood musicals are already being heard with might and main.

The handwriting of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana is recognizable in everything this star duet undertakes. Their yacht is no exception. The silver-gray body of the 51-meter beauty hides an ultra-modern interior, built on a combination of mirrored steel surfaces, black walls and teak floors. But it was not without bizarre baroque details and subtle humor. Gilded armchairs probably come from some palace of the Sicilian nobility, and leopard prints, which are not at all typical for yachts, tell guests that the owners are ready to surprise them throughout the whole boat trip.

At the entrance to the apartment of Paris Hilton (Paris Hilton) flaunts the inscription: “Princess Paris”, and the interior is fully consistent with the royal status of its owner. Paris’ bedroom is made in a glamorous style: fashionable black and silver colors, a huge four-poster bed, mirrors … Brilliant, like the hostess herself!

American fashion designer Betsey Johnson does not make things a cult. The objects of the great designers of the 20th century became for her just an improvised material from which she built the interior of her dreams.

The centerpiece of the bedroom is the Ligne Roset bed, designed by Peter Maly, covered with a satin bedspread from London’s Coco de Mer in her favorite pink.

High pile pink rug made to order by ABC Carpet & Home. Complementing the picture is the iconic Arco floor lamp by the Achille brothers and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos.

The eccentric Icelandic singer Bjork settled in Brooklyn in 2009year during an affair with the notorious American artist and performance artist Matthew Barney (Matthew Barney), to whom she gave birth to a daughter, Isadora. The master bedroom of their luxurious penthouse was decorated very austerely: a minimum of furniture, a maximum of free space and bright walls of her favorite pink-lingonberry color!

Cameron Diaz

Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz’s apartment in Manhattan was designed by Kelly Wearstler, so the project turned out to be doubly stellar.

The bedroom has a style that can be described as “understated luxury”: silk bedding and headboard, plush chairs reminiscent of 1970s fashion, ebony and gilded ceiling – all this looks very simple, fresh and at the same time aristocratic, like Cameron herself!

Tommy Hilfiger

A few years ago, Tommy Hilfiger acquired a mansion in Miami and moved his collection of art there – from Andy Warhol (Andy Warhol) and Damien Hirst (Damien Hirst) to the best examples of vintage furniture of the 20th century. To decorate the interiors of the house, the fashion designer entrusted the favorite of show business stars, the famous decorator Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, whose clients were singer Cher and musician Ozzy Osbourne. The palette is based on glossy white interspersed with bright, almost fluorescent colors. But for the master bedroom, the decorator chose a calm range. Mirrored surfaces and art are responsible for chic and glamour: the walls are decorated with a series of portraits of Marilyn Monroe by photographer Bert Stern 1962

Karl Lagerfeld designed his Parisian apartment himself.

“I don’t need a cozy nest, my apartment is more like a huge hotel room, crammed with furniture from famous designers: I call it “the antiques of the future,” said the couturier.

The bedroom in the apartment was decorated in his favorite colors: black and white. The walls are frosted glass. Bed linen with lace is an ironic concession to the owner’s “petty-bourgeois comfort”.

This 1852 Manhattan home was purchased by film director Baz Luhrmann and his wife, designer and set designer Catherine Martin, shortly after moving from Sydney to New York. York.

Many props from his films can be found in the setting: a top hat from Moulin Rouge!, a console from Australia, wallpapers from The Great Gatsby, as well as many works by Catherine herself (she designs textiles, wallpapers, carpets) .

For example, wallpaper with a pattern of palm and banana leaves based on Katherine’s sketches creates a special atmosphere in the bedroom. Martin bought the original Oriental-style bed frame while redesigning the Faena Hotel in Miami. “He came in handy here,” she says. — I really like authentic things. They have a special character due to their origin.
