‘We think that the shade of blue which works best with a bedroom is closely related to whether the homeowner is a night owl or a morning person,’ says Stefan Bucur from Rhythm of the Home.

5. Sherwin Williams – Vast Sky (SW 6506)

‘Studies show that any blue bedroom color promotes relaxation, calms the nervous system, and supports a tranquil atmosphere,’ Mar De Carlo says in her discussion of the peaceful color. Following this, she also recommends Vast Sky, the subtle, sky-resembling shade that will send you to a restful sleep. ‘When our eye registers blue, it causes the hypothalamus to produce more melatonin and the adrenal glands to reduce cortisol,’ Mar adds.

A three-room apartment of 140 sq. m. was provided for designing. meters. As a result of the redevelopment, the living room, kitchen, dining room, corridor and loggia were combined, together they formed one large flowing space. A small corridor in front of the kitchen was combined with a guest bathroom, a hammam was located here. Built-in storage systems are located in the entrance area and form a single wall. The private area is separated from the common living room by a door and a vestibule; there are bedrooms and a bathroom.
The apartment is located next to a pine forest, and the windows of the loggias offer beautiful views of the pine trees. The loggia, which was accessed from the bay window, was combined with the kitchen and insulated, there is now a small computer area and a place for relaxing and reading. Between the two bedrooms there is a bathroom with a window, from which the pine forest is also visible.
When choosing materials for decoration, preference was given to natural textures and colors. In the living area, part of the wall and slopes of the bay window are decorated with solid walnut. To make the drawing more spectacular and interesting, the texture of a tree with sapwood was specially chosen. The TV area is highlighted with ceramic tiles with a metallic effect. This wall separating the living room from the bathroom hides a massive load-bearing column. In the hallway, living room, hammam and loggia, various formats of ceramic tiles imitating naturally polished marble were used. It is embossed and very pleasant to the touch, the rest of the flooring is oak parquet. Doors in the living room are made of olive veneer, in the private area – dark oak veneer.
The atmosphere of the apartment is formed by objects of light and concise design. In the living room there is a chaise lounge with a Grand repos pouffe and a clock from Vitra, a Cattelan Italia dining group, a bookcase made of corrugated fittings from the Arketipo factory. The coffee tables and the bed in the bedroom are also from Arketipo. The interior of the apartment is modern, with elements of eco-style, with the exception of the office, which has an oriental temperament. The study differs from the whole apartment in the same way that vacation time differs from everyday life. The daughter’s room is stylized as an attic with steampunk elements.
At the request of the owners, the bedroom is made in dark colors, which makes the space intimate and cozy.
The apartment used a lot of lighting groups. Tape lighting frames the wooden panel, illuminates the bay window, as well as the structure hiding the beam and the supply and exhaust ventilation system. The ventilation system also provides air humidification. In the hallway, opposite the built-in wardrobes, there is a mirrored wall with a mirrored door that hides the entrance to the bathroom and hammam. In the hammam, all communication pipes are hidden in a kind of column.
