Kitchen Installation – Professional, tidy, excellent finish
The work carried out by Richard was a complete full kitchen installation replacing an old tatty one that was well overdue a change and not functional any more. This included full removal of units and floor tiling, installation and utilities connections. From the quote visit, Richard provided an inspection and helped answer any questions I had before providing a competitive quote. What swayed me was that Richard offered a full service rather than having to arrange multiple tradesman (plumber, electrician etc.), which made the quality of the job much better and organised. The work carried out was very thorough and to a high standard with Richard able to let me know the schedule and progress whenever requested. He carried out all necessary plumbing and electrical wiring work as well as floor tiling. After each day, he ensured the work area and wherever work was carried out was left clean and tidy so there was minimal disruption left. Living in a flat, this hindered areas to work (cutting materials etc.), however Richard proactively worked around this and was able to effectively complete the work. He was also very accommodating to any requests during the project and if any were possible, he was happy to carry this out to ensure the customer was happy (eg if I wanted something a certain way).
Overall, the completed kitchen looks excellent, great attention to detail and I’m very pleased with the finish. It’s great to have a fresh new kitchen up and running for 2023.

Highly recommended!
We wanted to upgrade our kitchen so everything was replaced except the kitchen cabinets. Richard did an excellent job, conferring on decisions and making recommendations where he thought there was a better way. He is polite, thoughtful ( works quietly and always cleans as he goes) and an absolute pleasure to have in the house. He works steadily and to a high standard and I would have no hesitation is recommending him. In fact our friends were so impressed they have him booked in already!

New Kitchen Installation
Richard installed our new kitchen but also did an excellent job of everything else we wanted to be done including electrics, plumbing, flooring and painting. His precision and care with everything was truly impressive. Richard discovered a few design issues along the way and was quick to point them out to us, but more importantly, did not make them our problem. He took ownership of the issue and after discussions with the Kitchen Designer, they were quickly resolved thanks to Richard’s solutions. The designer commented to me “you are lucky to have Richard”. Indeed we were. What stood out was not just the quality of his work (first class), his helpfulness and communication but also his attention to detail. I can highly recommend Richard.

Excellent job!
We had a long-standing issue with an ill-fitting bath panel which did not take account of our sloping bathroom floor! Richard researched and found the ideal solution – an adjustable bath panel specifically designed for sloping floors! It was a perfect solution which was perfectly fitted. Richard went the extra mile by enusuring a high quality finish…chrome mirror screws, fine line of sealant and the short length of exposed pipe alongside the end of the bath panel neatly boxed in and sealed. Overall a great job. Would not hesitate to recommend Richard.

Worth the wait
Having contacted Richard initially last summer to do a number of small jobs for me, I had to wait six months between quote/job done, I think because of the ‘covid induced’ demand for handyman services like his. However, Richard’s work was worth the wait! Having had someone else do a really poor job putting up mirrors and shelves, Richard came in to make good – which he did admirably. He also put up a dozen or so pictures for me and was very patient with me changing my mind all the time. He put up a cabinet and boxed in pipes in my bathroom, and particularly the boxing in, was far better than I was ever expecting. He did all this in 2 days. He worked hard both days and took very little time off for lunch/breaks. He was the tidiest handyman I’ve come across – with tools in one hand and his Henry hoover in the other. Even though there was a long time between quoting and the job getting done, he stuck to the exact dates he initially gave me for the work. His quote was emailed to me in a professional spreadsheet form and he stuck to this completely. Throughout the job, he was thoroughly professional in his work and manner – to me, my property and my belongings; and I felt was a genuinely decent person all round. I would absolutely recommend using RJR Services to anyone – even with small, bity jobs like mine. I will definitely be calling on Richard for future jobs I need doing, and would absolutely recommend him to others.

1st class work
Richard did an amazing job of removing my 30-year-old kitchen and replacing it with new units, compact laminate worktops (which are notoriously difficult to fit), sink and taps, shelving and appliances. The end result is flawless! You can expect absolute attention to detail, he is methodical, takes his time and he never cuts corners to speed up the job – the result is perfection. Richard is a good communicator and he kept me informed throughout the job, he will work with you to overcome unforeseen challenges and he is fair and open with his pricing. I can highly recommend him and that he works best on copious cups of tea and chocolate biscuits!

Top Quality Bathroom Refit
We had a complete bathroom refit- plaster, electrics, tiles (floor and wall) plus the furniture and fittings. Richard’s attention to detail is second to none and ensures a top quality finish. From the beautifully placed metro tiles to the paint finish it all looks fantastic and we are thrilled with the results. Any problems that come up are met with an attitude of “how can I solve this for you” rather than having to find an alternative. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Richard and we will no doubt use him again.

Everything you need to know to renovate a kitchen
One of the most used rooms in the house is the kitchen. For this reason, over time, it needs to change. Whether it’s for wear and tear, aesthetic reasons, or because we’re sick of seeing the same thing, renovating a kitchen is a key task in interior design. However, if the right steps are not taken, this can be a very exciting yet overwhelming project.
That’s why it’s important to take into account various aspects before starting a renovation, so that the end result is functional, aesthetic and safe. It is important not only to know the design and arrangement of the elements, but also to take into account their functionality, ventilation and lighting, as well as to choose the right materials. At Dune, as interior design experts, we know this. So if you want to know all the essential tips and latest trends for remodeling your kitchen, read on.
Why renovate a kitchen?
The kitchen is one of the main living spaces in the house. This makes you want to renew it from time to time, because with frequent use of this room, wear and tear and the feeling that you always see the same thing, comes earlier. However, these are not the only reasons why there is a desire to renovate the kitchen. Here are some other more common reasons:
- Property appreciation: If you want to sell a property in the future, one of the spaces that can add value is without a doubt the kitchen. A modern kitchen can be a key factor for potential buyers.
- Improved functionality : Kitchens are important spaces in any home. Therefore, it is very important that they are functional and practical spaces that make it easier to live together in daily use.
And for this reason, a new kitchen is not the same as a kitchen in which you already know its functionality and know what you will need to make it more comfortable. A kitchen remodel helps increase storage space, improve lighting and ventilation, and improve the distribution of items.
- Refresh the aesthetic : Just because something is functional doesn’t mean it can’t be aesthetically pleasing. Trends change every year, so kitchen style can go out of style over time. Refurbishment helps maintain the essence of modernity by changing materials, paints and accessories. Simple changes can completely transform the look of a kitchen.
- Energy saving : the environment is becoming more and more important and appliance manufacturers know it. Therefore, every year new products appear that save more energy and have more efficient lighting and ventilation systems. This not only helps to contribute to the ecosystem, but also reduces energy costs in the long run.
How long does a complete kitchen renovation take?
When it comes to remodeling a kitchen, one of the most common thoughts is the inconvenience it can cause and the time it will take. In fact, the time it takes to renovate a kitchen depends on the size of the space and the type of changes you want to make. However, sometimes the inconvenience cannot be minimized.
However, we can estimate that in general the time it takes to complete a kitchen renovation varies from five to six weeks. This period can be reduced or extended up to two times, depending on the structural changes that the kitchen renovation entails.
To keep this time as short as possible, Dune recommends that a detailed plan be developed before starting a project. That is, the person responsible for the work must clearly determine in advance the design, materials used, budget and the number of specialists who will be part of the repair team. Such an organization will help you avoid delays and not spend more time than planned.
It’s also worth noting that a kitchen overhaul is not the same as replacing furniture or appliances, remodeling floors or walls, or changing electrical or plumbing wiring. Every task takes time. That is why it is necessary to be clear about what you want to change during the renovation in order to determine how much time you are going to spend.
Steps for a kitchen renovation
Having clear steps to follow ensures that the project will work. In this sense, if you decide to completely renovate your kitchen, then the process will be as follows:
- Project planning : before you start renovating, you need to determine the needs that prompted you to make this investment, find a professional who will advise you and suggest a budget and suitable materials. Do not forget to draw up a contract for the performance of work and apply for the appropriate permits.
- Dismantling : The second step is to remove all old electrical appliances and surfaces to make room for new ones.
- Electrical and plumbing upgrades : before installing new appliances and coatings, make sure that there are no malfunctions in the kitchen. To do this, it is best to update the wiring and ensure its durability. Pipes, sockets and hoods are the main elements to be replaced.
- Construction : The fourth step is to cover the walls and floor of your kitchen. It is best to choose ceramic tile or laminate as they are easy to install and clean. Also, since this is such a busy room, it’s important to use durable materials that are easy to clean and maintain.
- Assembly : Finally, it’s time to install all electrical appliances, countertops, sinks and decorative items. This step is very important as we need to make sure everything fits perfectly and has the correct seal. These fixes are key to getting a new kitchen ready.
For the change to be successful, remember that having a solid team is critical to making your kitchen renovation process run smoothly and efficiently.
Kitchen Renovation Ideas
There are many creative ideas to quickly and easily give your kitchen a new look. Read on to get inspired and discover all the kitchen renovation ideas we have to offer.
Add a kitchen island
One of the latest trends in kitchen design is the installation of islands. With their help, we not only improve the functionality of this room, but also get storage space and turn it into a new place to communicate with family and friends.
Islands are increasingly present in modern and functional kitchens as they provide efficiency and convenience. Not only can you install an oven, hob, sink or storage cabinets in them, but you can also use them as a place for breakfast and even a work space.
Add color to the furniture
If you are happy with your kitchen layout and don’t intend to make big changes, changing the furniture will give the room a new aesthetic and look. Whether it’s vinyl covering or painting, changes are guaranteed.
In fact, one of the best ways to take a risk and bring some light into your kitchen renovation is to choose furniture in bright and bold colors like red, yellow or green. These tones combined with more classic white will give the kitchen light and modern style.
Cover kitchen walls and floors
Choosing a good finish is everything when it comes to personalizing a space, and the kitchen is no exception. So if you want to give your kitchen a new style, a good way to do it is to tile it. Your kitchen will look like a different place.
What’s more, depending on the style you want to give it, you can choose from:
- Wood Look Vinyl Floor: it adds a rustic and warm feel to any room. Items from our Click&Floor collection are ideal for new renovations. The high quality and ease of installation make them ideal for kitchen floors.
- Marble Products: If you want to add elegance and sophistication to your kitchen, marble is the best choice. Marble-effect porcelain stoneware combines beauty and practicality with high performance.
- Special Finish Tiles : Whether you want a more traditional or more contemporary design, special finish tiles are your ally. Tiles with a special pattern are ideal for adding style and originality to your kitchen. So, any tile from our Soft&Safe line is perfect for updating your kitchen.
- Combine tiles in bright colors : if you want to give your kitchen a modern and light look, color is everything. As with using colored furniture, matching tiles can also help you achieve the change you want.
Change household appliances
Over time, household appliances can wear out and become obsolete. That’s why upgrading to newer, more efficient models will help you improve the functionality of your kitchen and give it a more modern look.
In addition, the new appliances have more features and are more user-friendly, which means they use less energy. Undoubtedly, investing in new appliances increases the functionality of your kitchen.
Redesign your kitchen
Finally, an inexpensive way to breathe new life into your kitchen is to rearrange your furniture. By simply rearranging elements such as the refrigerator, microwave, condiments, table or decor, you can give this room a different hue.
You can choose only one of our kitchen renovation ideas or combine them – the choice is yours!
How much does a kitchen renovation cost?
As with any repair, the price depends on what needs to be changed and what professions are involved. It also depends on whether all repairs will be contracted to a specialized company that will combine all the tasks, or whether each company that needs to intervene will search independently. In addition, depending on the size, level of repair, labor costs and quality of materials, the price may be one or the other.
The most important thing is to draw up a preliminary estimate and clearly define the maximum amount that you are willing to invest in a kitchen renovation. As we noted at the beginning, a complete renovation is not the same as a partial one. Therefore, by clearly defining the purpose of the changes and the budget before the start of the renovation, it will be easier for you to make sure that the project meets expectations, and, above all, you will avoid economic surprises.
In general, if you are thinking of renovating your kitchen, follow the steps above and pick the ideas you like. Also, keep your priorities in mind and define your decorative style. Dare!
Furniture for a kitchen with a bay window in a 2-room apartment in a house of the P44T series (52 sq. m) is a dream come true.
By the time of measuring and designing furniture in the kitchen, the renovation in the apartment had already been completed. The battery has already been moved, all sockets for household appliances, including the TV antenna, have been installed. It remains only to lay out the apron from the tiles.
The project was based on an idea from a photograph shown by my clients during our first meeting.
Photos from the site of the company “Repair-Project”.
Also, a wish was voiced to install a cornice in the form of a visor with illumination on top of the upper cabinets.
After measuring the kitchen space, I “sketched” the concept of the kitchen furniture project.
The discussion of the final version of the furniture project with the customer was continued via the Internet.
The customer sent to my mail photos of the kitchen from the old apartment, in which the upper cornice-visor of a complex shape of the VIRS kitchen was installed, with which I had to work at the initial stage of my career as a furniture maker, more than 15 years ago.
Fragments of photographs of the kitchen cornice from the old apartment.
In fact, the interior of the kitchen, in which my clients felt comfortable and convenient for many, many years, had to be integrated into the design of their new kitchen.
Kitchen project. Sketch.
One of the most difficult elements in the design and manufacture of a furniture set is a trapezoid top cabinet with a box inside (sketch).
The rest of the problem was solved.

Initially, the customers wanted to purchase a brown Hitachi R-S37WVPU TD refrigerator, but after consulting with me, they bought Electrolux EN 3487 AOO. The “Japanese” has two doors on top and when opened, the right wing would hit the rounded upper cabinet.
I suggested making a rounded pedestal with an “extension”. In my opinion, this is more convenient than if there was a narrow cabinet of 245 mm in the corner.
The hostess of the kitchen wanted to install a large sink in the furniture with two bowls and a wing. I will offer to combine the cabinet under the sink with the retractable mechanism “Bottle”.
Together with a hidden storage system for household chemicals, which is always “at hand”, getting rid of unnecessary partitions, a place was added for installing a large sink in the countertop.
